At just $86,995, it's a bargain compared with the other overpowered SUVs. Ridiculous.

Like the rear window Jeep decals state, Jerry.
"It's a Jeep thing...you wouldn't understand"

Also, all the other manufacturers are doing it so HP must sell. You may never use a 700 HP Jeep, but you sure as hell will have bragging rights when you meet your buddies for coffee on Saturday morning! Just sayin'.

Just GOOGLED the horse power of a Tesla Model S:
"In July 2015, Tesla introduced its 70, 90, 90D and P90D variants along with a "ludicrous mode" for the performance model. The P90D combines a front axle power of 259 horsepower (193 kW) and rear axle power of 503 horsepower (375 kW) to a total of 762 horsepower (568 kW), for a 0–60 mph time of 2.8 sec".

It's still all about horse power!

There are a lot of things in this world that I don't "need". Doesn't make it wrong for me to want them, or have them. And, as noted, "It's a Jeep thing. You wouldn't understand". And, yes, I have a 1999 Jeep Wrangler. And I have taken it off-road.

It's not that you need it, it is just knowing you can do 185+mph. The thrill of it when you push the pedal to the floor, and you try to suck in air to breath. It is ONLY in my dreams that I could afford one, and suck up a Prius, then expell it out the exhaust.

My Wrangler has enough HP from the factory for anything I will ever use it for. Can't imagine that kind of power on a paved highway, let alone in the mud or on a steep hill. Scary. When I feel the need for speed, my motorcycle has a power to weight ratio beating almost any car on the road......and I can still get well in excess of 40 mpg.

My motorcycles engine is larger than the engine in my car, 1.846 litre 6 cylinder vs 1.4 litre 4 cylinder. The car weighs more than 3 times the motorcycle and gets better highway gas mileage than the motorcycle, and both will go at least 140 MPH. Both have heated seats and heated grips/steering wheel, and both have really nice sound systems and both are fun to drive. Who needs gobs of horsepower to have fun?!

If your car can do 140 with a 1.4 litre 4 cylinder, you must have a Porsche or something similar, which is still producing h.p......unless you're talking 140 mph vertical drop.

The world may not need one, but I'm sure there's one or two people who are discovering that they can't live without one.

Your motorcycle is actually 1836 cc......pretty sure it is a Gold Wing. I've owned two of them. Currently on a Concours. It' just getting started at 100 mph....in 2nd gear!

I'd rather put that kind of money into a fast car. Why would anybody need a fast SUV? To get the kids to Daycare on time?

My personal favorite on that list is the Bentley - I wonder what it looks like inside?
