I ordered a Canon 18-135mm STM lens from Mpb . It's an online camera store selling used gear like KEH camera . It was supposed to arrive by Thursday September 14th . I had an event the next day to shoot . The next day came and nothing arrived . I called and Fedex and they claim they delivered it . But on Thursday my wife was home and on Friday we were both home . And in 20 plus years nothing was ever stolen off our porch . But I suppose there's a first time for everything . We went down to the police station and filed a police report and now we are waiting for Fedex to do some sort of investigation with Mpb. Did this ever happen to anyone here and what was the outcome ?
Advice to fellow HOGS ; always request ( Signature Required ) on all of your orders .

As far as I know I've never had any mail stolen. Usually I find that UPS just mis-delivered it or lost it. This usually has happened near holidays when they hire temp help. A couple other times the USPS lost or delayed Media or Book Rate mail coming to me. One time it just came way late after a replacement was sent from the original seller. Another time long ago a large and heavy book was mailed to me and the jiffy bag tore to pieces so all I got was an empty torn up bag with a note from the USPS. These days I watch my tracking like a hawk and if it shows Delivered and it is not there I usually will talk to my USPS delivery person while they are still on my street or call the USPS or UPS. I have never had a problem with FED-EX or DHL thus far.

I did have one strange occurrence though. A few years back I ordered a used Gitzo Side Arm for my Gitzo Tripod from eBay. It seemed to be slightly delayed arriving. But when it arrived I could tell the box had been opened and resealed. My guess is it was inspected because a possible X-ray made it look like a weapon. Say a very heavy fire arm barrel! Are there "mini-bazookas"?

I had a package from B&H that was scheduled for delivery one day last week by FEDEX. Got a confirmation on my phone that the "Package has been delivered" at 3:10 PM, which was about 15 minutes prior to getting the message. I went out and looked on my front porch....no package in sight. So based on prior experiences with FEDEX I went to my neighbor's houses on both sides of me. Sure enough, on one of my neighbor's porches there was my package and another package that was addressed to my wife. I called FEDEX and tried to submit a complaint on their "Chat Line". The agent I talked to said "There is nothing I can do". I have had similar experiences with FEDEX and UPS. The drivers are in such a hurry they don't take time to confirm the address before tossing the package.

Sometimes there are advantages to having the requirement that signatures are required for delivery. I am surprised that the vendor did not specify this to fed ex. With B&H, with anything over a certain value, they require it. Hope you g

I created a post several months ago on this very thing. You used FedEx, but it happens more with UPS. With the holidays coming up in the next two months, it will get worse. In my community, we call them Brown Truck Followers. Cars/trucks follow the UPS trucks. When they deliver at the house. The driver parks in front of the house, walks to your front porch, and steals your packages. Many have been caught stealing on video camera. But, the success rate of arresting these individuals are slim and none. Signatures are not required because of time. It's quicker to drop off and go. As in my community. They don't request a signature.

We have found FedEx to be very unreliable. Just last week they claimed to have delivered an item to our front porch - we live in the middle of the woods and there is no way it would have been stolen (it still hasn't been located)! They have left expensive computer equipment at the bottom of our 1000' lane as well as an order which was left at an abandoned property a quarter mile from us. We have begun requesting that orders be sent via UPS - we've never had a problem with them.

UPS actually entered tracking data that a package had been delivered on Friday to my porch but they didn't actually deliver until Monday. Never did get a satisfactory answer on that one! Of course I thought the package had been stolen. UPS is usually pretty good.

I always have problems with Fedex, however, 1 and a half years ago I ordered a d750 from Crutchfield to be delivered with signature delivery. I was waiting patiently for the package as it usually gets delivered around 6 pm. Nothing. I decided to open my door at 7 pm and there it was. Never signed for it. When I inquired as to why it wasn’t signed for by me, they showed me a picture of a signature that was not mine.

I think Fed Ex would be responsible for a replacement, since they are the ones that "delivered" (kind of) it. If they really did, they just put it there for anyone to take, something they are not supposed to do!

I had a Christmas present stolen from the foyer of our building. The opened box and note were right there. It was as if the thief wanted to prove that the box had been delivered.
The present was a monogrammed over-night bag. I hope that my initials are still on the bag to remind the thief that it is not their Christmas present.

I thought it did with one delivery back a couple of years ago. After a few phone calls I gave it up and went to look outside again and it was there; just obscured.
