I use the Peak Design Slide for my Canon 5D IV. There is also a Peak Design Slide Lite for Mirrorless. These are cross-body straps and they are easily detachable. Check out their website www.peakdesign.com. Black Rapid has made some changes since I bought mine around 8 years ago but they also make cross-body straps. Hope this helps you.

I use the same strap for my Nikon D810, Much easier on the neck than the OEM strap.

I use a hand strap / shoulder strap combo, purchased on Amazon. Use it on a Canon 80D. Should work with your Sony. The products are a $20 WITHLIN Professional Photography Swift Sport Shoulder Strap (Strap +tether +plate), and a $9 Case Logic DHS-101 Quick Grip (Black). I did not use the twist knob that comes with the hand strap, but instead attached the bottom part of the hand strap to the slot in the WITHLIN attachment plate. When carried in the bag, I remove the shoulder strap (unhook the locking carabiner)--but this decision has more to do with the way my main bag is configured. I leave the hand strap (and the safety tether) attached to the camera all the time.

Yes, the Peak Design Slide looks like a winner. I haven't found a sling that I like but I'm going to give this one a try.

Whats wrong with the good old neckstrap (still the best way of carrying a camera)?

It's uncomfortable and the camera is unstable. For instance you can't bend over or it will swing out in front of you and hit something or somebody.

Peak Design has recently introduced Leash which is narrower than Slide. It can support up to 200 lbs, is comfortable and lot easier to stuff in a camera bag. I've switched from Slide to Leash and like it.

The Leash is the thinner 3/4" wide strap strap. Right?

Look at Op-Tech USA

Multiple types of sling straps that connect and disconnect at the camera lug attachment, wrist strap clips onto same attachment. I have multiple styles of Op Tech slings and straps. Very versatile and comfortable.

Couldn't agree more. I've been using the OP Tech single and double slings for several years. I use the wrist strap actually more than either sling due to the fact that much of my photography involves being in and out of a vehicle frequently. Just came back from a trip to South Africa and used both the double sling and wrist strap extensively. Great system in my estimation.

TYCKA is the sling I picked up. Works fine for me. I added a caribener (?) under the arm strap to hand my tripod or extra lens case. For about $19 it's fine.

Take a look at Lance Camera Straps. They make elegant woven straps that attach with the least obtrusive
camera lugs I have found. They make matching hand straps. Either neck or hand strap can easily clip on and off by these small lugs.
The neck straps slide easily and are comfortable.
Peak Design is my second favorite.

I carry my Sony A77 in a backpack. I have wrist strap. I'm getting somewhat tired of taking the camera out of the bag each time I wish to take a shot, hence the sling topic.
So, is there a camera sling that will accommodate a wrist strap? Do I even need a wrist strap using the camera sling? My goal is to carry the camera in the bag with the sling attached. Ideally, the body sling could separate from the camera when re-bagging. Nagging question I know, I want to do it right the first time. Hope you members can steer me in the right direction for purchase. PS I've been thru the Amazon camera sling line up several times, came up short each time in making a selection. Any direction provided in this request is greatly appreciated. Thank You~!

...I use the peak design sling with my sling bag and I use the peak design capture clip with a wrist strap for my backpack...when I'm hiking I prefer to have the camera high so I can protect it and it doesn't swing when I need both hands for climbing...I leave all the clips on because they are interchangeable...and the bottom arca plate is comparable with my tripod...
