They are the major vendor and contributor at the New England Camera Club Council held each year at UMass the weekend after the 4th of July. I've purchased from them for years and have always been pleased with the price and service. Would that others would follow their example!

The Mom and Pop stores have always been customer service oriented.

Now that's GREAT service.

A little over four years ago I purchased my Nikon D7100 from Hunt's Camera in Manchester, NH. Since I retired, the South Portland, Maine location is now the most convenient for me. Last week my D7100 for some reason would no longer auto-focus. I brought it up to the So. Portland store and explained the issue. The person I dealt with (I believe the manager or assistant manager) looked it over, cleaned the mounting surfaces of both camera and lens, played with controls and settings for a few minutes, frowned several times, and told me I had two options. He could send the camera out for repair which would take 6 to 8 weeks and cost me "lots of money." Or he could swap it for a brand new d7100 body at no charge. I did some quick calculating and opted for the latter. I never dreamt that that could happen after four plus years of use. I thanked him for the great service and he said "Just tell your friends." So that's what I'm doing now.

I had a similar thing happen with my D7100. but it wasn't the camera it was the lens. The 18-55 I could focus manual but not auto. They replaced it and told me to keep the old one. I never used it again except for a paper weight.

The guy who waited on me tried different lenses so we know it was the camera.
