Oh I love that! I hope I remember it.
It really made me laugh!
But looking back over the years with 4 kids, I think it did help prepare me for a bunch of stuff. 😆
You would complain about anything. For $9.95 a month, you get LR, PS and Bridge constantly being updated. They have changed nothing. If you want extras it is going to cost. Why use other programs? You will never be happy.
fact is, while getting better, LR is still kludgy and crash prone, with few normal data base tools needed for recovery. all data bases corrupt periodically. this one is more susceptible than most and little thought seems to have been given to date to much needed graceful recovery...let alone guidance as to how most efficiently to organize data for retrieval in the first place. anyone checked how many "experts" are making their living off this frequent mess? but also, there is a lot of power in the current iteration that I doubt one can completely find anywhere else...now did anyone really think they wouldn't raise price? only point is it seems they're doing it and per the qnnaire it seems doubling? that's a dubious idea, before they've got a solid 2.0 product...just sayin'...

Maybe we should suggest in photography various photography forums that people suggest that they will cancel subscriptions.
Good idea. I have been promoting stand alone from the beginning, why pay several times the stand alone price in only a few yrs?. The answer I would get was " you get the updates, and PS". I don't care about frequent updates and don't use PS. If I ever want to use PS I would buy stand alone.
I am still using Photoshop 5. Photoshop 5 allows me to use all of my plug-ins without issues.
When Adobe came up with this so called "cloud" I decided that I will not be paying them on a monthly basis renting what they had. I have saved paying them that rent for the past 2 years and now with the news you just announced I am glad I never wanted to do business with them.
Photoshop is a great program but it is becoming a monopoly. As long as I can I will keep my Photoshop 5 but if times comes I will go to a cheaper program to edit my files. Nikon Capture NX2 is what I use more to edit my Nikon files.

Well I gave in and have been using Creative Cloud Photo for nearly 2 years, but kept my Corel PSP X8.
Well today I got a "survey" about Plan X and Plan Y.
Plan X Lightroom cross platform, on line storage and a "portfolio" on line feature for $9.99 a month.
Plan Y Lightroom Plan X + Photo Shop for $19.99 a month.
Looks like I may be dumping CC, using my standalone LR 6 and Corel PSP + Corel After Shot if they go through with this plan to change things during the next 12 months as mentioned in the survey. I really like LR and have been getting used to PS. But not $20 a month or $240 a year. I will concentrate on my Corel products and get used to them.
Them raising the price was one of the main things many of us were worried about. Well, these new "plans" are just that, a price doubling to keep using LR and PS.
And there I was just beginning to think that my normal pessimistic attitude was pleasantly wrong in this case!
We pessimists have an advantage, if things go well we get a nice surprise, if they go wrong we were expecting it and don't get crushed about it. Just pissed.
Well I gave in and have been using Creative Cloud ... (

Been using LR since LR 3. Now have CC. Never crashed once. Not Kludgy (whatever that means). The only problems that I have had were not following the instructions, blindly diving into it, and other stupid things that I did. Tons of free instruction and guidance . It is a wonderful program.

Just what I want is a program that is constantly being updated. I am a Corel user and love their software. Upgrade every two years is plenty. Went to X9 for 30 bucks and good for as long as I want with no further costs.
I am quite pleased with Faststone and Affinity. One is free, the other cheap and flexible.

Using LR 6 stand alone.......never ever crashed either......never heard of LR crashes....

Now that is funny. You're UHH's biggest troll.
Always entertaining to read about rumors and what if scenarios on here!
Until my subscription is up for renewal and I am notified of an increase officially, why worry?
Photographers package, 4 years now, still 9.99 a month, no price increase yet, even though the doomsayers predict every month that they suck you in and set the hook then reel you in
In my mind when a change comes it comes, and that's when to decide what to do about it
What color is the sky in your world anyway?
Ohh no crashes with Lightroom CC here, no catalog corruption either
