I have zero interest in online storage. I only want LR and PS and for $9.99 I feel it's worth it. However, if I have to pay double to get those two I will be looking for alternatives also.

Same here.

It is always productive to prematurely borrow trouble.

They are just testing the waters, you guys are completely hilarious - no price change has been announced, unless you live in a country where the value of the dollar has changed. And this happened March 1st. Take a breath, have a glass of Chianti, and go back to using your software. Or not. Your choice.

They have already made some changes.
Seems they notified everyone that subscriptions sold through Amazon (mine) would no longer be monthly, must be 1 year prepaid. I never got a notification so a couple of days ago my CC subscription went to limited functions and I was told I need to subscribe reactivate. I called Adobe support and was told by the tech he knew nothing of it and would refer my query to 2nd Tier support - I still haven't heard. But when I went to Amazon their support guy told me about it and then switched me to their department that handled Adobe subscriptions, he confirmed it and said I either had to subscribe directly through Adobe or buy a 1 year plan. I subscribed directly through Adobe in case I decided to just drop them I wouldn't be eating the rest of the year's fee.
Then today I got this link to a survey from their marketing people. They did keep repeating "if" this is implemented in the next 12 months. And a couple of times they had continuing with with what I had as a choice, sorta.

Oh, they did give me 1 or 2 entries in a drawing for an iPad Pro, if they got my survey before the deadline, but it said within 24 hours to get 2 entries, I did the survey 23 1/2 after the time stamp of the e-mail.

Not borrowing trouble and will deal with it when/if it occurs, but it would not surprise me - it's become the model for many services and SW - a low introductory price for new users, and then a price increase for existing users with the idea that it's too much trouble to change. We already see that in cellular, cable/internet and even newspapers. Rather than rewarding customer loyalty, the emphasis is on acquiring new customers.

I've gotten 4-5 of those surveys in the last few years. My fee is still 9.95/month. If they ever double the fee, I'll keep on trucking anyway. Not gonna give up on something that works.

Amazon offered a discounted subscription, but you had to pay annually instead of monthly. Nothing new about that concept in the marketing world.

Relax.

Well I gave in and have been using Creative Cloud Photo for nearly 2 years, but kept my Corel PSP X8.
Well today I got a "survey" about Plan X and Plan Y.
Plan X Lightroom cross platform, on line storage and a "portfolio" on line feature for $9.99 a month.
Plan Y Lightroom Plan X + Photo Shop for $19.99 a month.

Looks like I may be dumping CC, using my standalone LR 6 and Corel PSP + Corel After Shot if they go through with this plan to change things during the next 12 months as mentioned in the survey. I really like LR and have been getting used to PS. But not $20 a month or $240 a year. I will concentrate on my Corel products and get used to them.

Them raising the price was one of the main things many of us were worried about. Well, these new "plans" are just that, a price doubling to keep using LR and PS.

And there I was just beginning to think that my normal pessimistic attitude was pleasantly wrong in this case!

We pessimists have an advantage, if things go well we get a nice surprise, if they go wrong we were expecting it and don't get crushed about it. Just pissed.

I went to the Adobe web site and the $19.99 a month option is something completely different than the Photography package. In fact, I did not even see Lightroom there as an option. Apparently they thought there was a need for yet an additional package for various users. The Photograph package is still listed at the $9.99 month for Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC. In all, four different plans are listed there for various users.

I have been in CC since the beginning. Photoshop, Lightroom, Bridge, and Acrobat and free access to everything else. $20.00 a month is nothing. Acrobate is a necessity and that alone really drives up the cost.
I don't know of an alternative that is equal, let alone better so I stick with them, and grumble a bit at the cost.

$20 for a month? I shoot that much in 5 minutes at the gun range.

I guess they weren't satisfied making 1.68 billion in the first quarter of 2017.

I can see others using a standalone LR version with a dng converter more frequently if they double the rate. I still have a copy of a 5x standalone hanging around for my 5dIII unopened.

Sounds almost like a software doping. Lure them in with an affordable price and then double the price once they're hooked

This isn't on their site, it was a survey by a market research company they hired to do it. Kept saying "if" & "in the next 12 months".

But I can use the money to buy e-books (and once I have paid and downloaded they are mine) from Barnes and Noble or save towards more camera gear.

Don't shoot much do you?
I used to burn through that much in 22 during a visit to the range.
Then there are the real expensive calibers.

I have LR 5 and 6 on disk. A download of their free dng converter. 3 editions of PSE on disk and 4 or 5 old editions of Corel's PSP. And one old copy of Corel Draw that has a built in photo editor that can be run in a virtual copy of an old windows if needed. Just have to get one of my daughter's computer geek friends to set it up for me, or dig out the old disks and install it on the old Pentium II in the garage.
