We always look forward to these beautiful little birds returning in the spring, at the beginning of the nesting season. The male is almost always singing and as we work with the flowers in the back yard the sound seems to be very close and it's almost like he is following you! So you peer into the trees, but sometimes it takes quite a while to locate him as he jumps from branch to branch on the leaf- covered limbs. I am including four images, the first two taken on a very old bald cypress tree and the last two on the remains of a gum tree stump which is directly beside the cypress tree.

Thanks, Merry and so glad that you liked and the male is still singing, but have yet to see the female. I hope she's just letting him do all the singing! Take care!

Thanks Jim, and the little male is still singing most of the day and they usually nest close, and somewhere around the water in a hollow or a nest box! Take care!

Thanks Val, and just came in from outside about an hour ago and the little male was still singing, but do think that we saw another pair a few days after this set was taken, but this poor little fellow
seems to be all alone! Take care! Corky!

Thanks LakeGal for the very kind words and two thumbs, and really appreciate you looking. Also I checked your site for your latest post and the goldfinches are beautiful and was watching a few on the thistle feeder this afternoon! I have been so busy with yardwork, company, and potting new flowers that I haven't had much time lately for the hog, and when I started replying last night was 19 pages behind, but after many hours did manage to catch up but know I missed some great images. The little warbler is still with us and just singing his heart out, but appears to still be alone, but we are almost sure that we saw another pair together. Thanks again and take care! Corky

Corky this is an excellent set! We have had an on going discussion about the value of UHH taking us to regions and birds we may never have an opportunity to see. This beauty would be a rare winter visitor out here and I have never seen one. Thanks for these beautiful examples. Fine work my friend.
