Beautiful images! With the variable light in trees and all the fast movements of a warbler, these must have been very difficult to get. Wonderful job!

Corky, these are terrific shots! You caught four distinctly different poses. Each shot is sharp and clear. Not only all that, but this is a really beautiful bird. I just looked in my field guide and it looks like we are on the very southern edge of their range. I have never seen one but it gives me something to hope for.

Thanks you very much, Carol, and hope that at least one will pay you a visit! Almost every time that I open the back I hear the little one singing, but the only thing that bothers me is I've yet to see the female. I erected a new house for them by the water with a critter proof baffle and a custom size hole to keep larger birds out, but they will probably select something not nearly as safe! :-) Thanks again and take care!

Thanks Jan, and so glad that you liked and maybe you should consider making a trip down while it's still singing, and of course bring your camera along!

We always look forward to these beautiful little birds returning in the spring, at the beginning of the nesting season. The male is almost always singing and as we work with the flowers in the back yard the sound seems to be very close and it's almost like he is following you! So you peer into the trees, but sometimes it takes quite a while to locate him as he jumps from branch to branch on the leaf- covered limbs. I am including four images, the first two taken on a very old bald cypress tree and the last two on the remains of a gum tree stump which is directly beside the cypress tree.
We always look forward to these beautiful little b... (show quote)

Lovely bird, must be enjoyable to hear him sing.

Beautiful shots of one of my favorite little warblers, Corky! We only see them during migration and most often just for one day.

Thanks Donna, and they are also one of our favorites and wish that they would spend a little more time with you! A pair usually nest very close to us, but they have not always made the best choices on their nesting home, so this year we installed a new nest box with a great baffle and a hole sized to keep the larger birds out, but they probable will not select it! Thanks again and hope that you guys have a great what's left of the weekend!
