Or you could just say, "Shut up!"
Bob, my suspicion was that my purchase was gray and I am fine with that
Nikon backs up the repairs on the D810. It is obviously a subject that aroused much passion.I saved $700 on a new camera price
When I lived in Europe all my cameras (Nikons and Rolleiflex) would all be considered gray. I still have those cameras and never had an ounce of trouble.
At first I thought that my purchase was not gray and said so. After all of the discussion I checked the serial numbers and they are gray I then checked with Nikon. The discussion seemed to suggest that if anything mechanical happened then the show was over. Nikon said that their repair facilities would take the D810. That settled it for me. I am pleased with my purchase and with the savings purchased fx lens that I needed. While my main camera was D7000 all but two of the lenses are fx. I can still use the two dx lenses with the D810. All around I am pleased with my purchase
