Love the printer, but I can't print 11x14 prints. I called Canon and they told me that 11x14 is not a chinese size. I'm still trying to figure out how to print a custom size print. I was directed to feed paper into the manual feed in the back of the printer. Didn't work, but I"m still trying.
i use the pro 100 for large prints only and my 8220 for smaller images. Great printer.
Red River paper has instructions for doing it:

I have a Pixma Pro 100. It works beautifully. The ink is expensive with Canon but I see here on Amazon.ca you can purchase an ink that is just as good through Nextpage for a third of the price than Canon one. So I don't what Amazon.com has to offer.
Amazon is the cheapest I have found in Canada
So far in two ink orders, I have received over $500 photo paper in various sizes, type, and finishes. Given the return on sales, this purchase hasn't cost me yet.

If you don't mind refilling then try Precision Colors (a Canadian company)
http://www.precisioncolors.com/After you buy the refill kit and first bottles of ink you buy ink only and a refill of a cartridge is less than $1 US. I bought the ultimate kit with 4 oz bottles, fillers and chip resetter for $175 US and each 4oz bottle has aprx 7 refills in it.
They get great ratings and have extensive info on the Pro-100 including custom profiles for printing.
And here is a collection of videos related to the Pro-100 by a guy who spends his time testing printers etc.

How much of a challenge is it to refill them? I have watched videos. There are some things you have to be careful isn't ?
Thank you for the infos

They're not bad. I do mine in the garage and always ware latex gloves. One point I'll pass along is to always use a new cartridge with yellow it has a tendency to clog compared to the other colors.

I've had the Pro-100 for a number of years and use it strictly for photographs Heavy and the ink cartridges are expensive. $124 for the 8 pack. Made all sizes of prints from 4X6 to 13X19 without any problems.
I'm sure you'll like it.

I love mine. The only problem I've had with it is that I get false paper jams when printing snapshots on 4X6 paper which I'd rather not do anyway. I solved that problem by sneaker neting snapshots to my wife's laptop after cropping them to look half decent at that aspect ratio. She can then order what she wants from Snapfish or Shutterfly. Keeps everyone happy and I don't waste the ink. I agree, as someone else here already said, that its best to spend the ink only on the prints you want to mount. I've won contests with prints from my Pro 100.

Mainly about spills.
I bought the set of new refillable cartridges.
When I am not too lazy to do it:
1. spread newspaper on table
2. arrange everything including the chip resetter plugged in.
3. use paper plates or bowls to set the cartridges on while filling and before and after filling. you can carry the cartridges to the printer in them and not worry about leaks while carrying them
4. wear surgical gloves, or not, the ink will come off with a good washing using good soap
5. I usually reset and top off all 8 cartridges when one goes empty, don't have to set up to refill as often that way
6. tilt the cartridge so you can insert the fill needle close to horizontal because the ink is thin and will run out if upside down
7. insert the needle in deeply or you will get air bubbles forcing ink out the fill hole and make a mess, squeeze very lightly and fill slowly, pull the needle out fairly fast and tip to upright while releasing the pressure of your squeeze - that way it sucks the ink in and avoids leaking all over. alternate, use a large capacity hypodermic needle to fill, they are much easier to control - but you will need to find 8 of them and clean/wash them after each use
I like to fool around with custom sizes and aspect ratios. I have no problem doing that in Photoshop Elements. At least not with custom size prints. Custom paper sizes are another matter. I think that's just me not learning to use PSE effectively, though.
I've had mine a few month (got one of those deals with 50 sheets of 13"x19" paper around the holidays) and have had no issues with it. Sure, it is heavy, but once I got it placed in my office/studio it isn't going anywhere. I'm looking forward to great prints for a long time.
