DB: I don't have hardly any pictures of my family; you are so lucky to have them. But what few I do have it would of been nice if they would of wrote on the back of the pictures who, what, where, and when.

I want to show you one I made up for my wife of her family. Her mom and dad were married 72years. This is a composit picture of her Mom and her, and brothers and sisters still living. Picture of her dad's face and a brother both who had passed away

dragonfist, what a wonderful legacy you have. I can't wait to see them. I was fortunate to inherit an old family bible © 1865. Although it did not have any handwritten notes or dates we did find locks of hair, newpaper clippings, valentines and school awards. Its not in the best condition as the binding is broken in two but it is a treasure to me anyway. Ty for posting your story.

A beautiful rememberance for your wife. For Christmas a couple years ago, I gave each of my son's some of the memorabilia from my father and grandfather. They both lived and worked in Chicago..and oh the stories my dad could tell. I grew up in a somewhat small town in Northern Illinois and the hotel where Al Capone Vacationed is still standing. Progress is a wonderful thngs, but, in my humble opinion, if we can preserve our past it will give better meaning to our future. Ty everyone for posting..

Hi DB, I am posting some of the family photos I have. It was rather difficult as they are all under glass so the bubble frame has some reflections. The one with all the pictures has my great great grandfather and his wife top right. Left top is my dad and his sister, the center is my grandfather, bottom left is my great grandfather and his wife and bottom right is my grandfather and grandmother on their wedding day in 1907. My wife had them matted and professionally framed for me many years ago for my birthday.
the Civil War soldiers are my great grandfather Harrison Clarke and his brother Perry Clarke. They both were in Company G of the 104th New York Volunteer infantry. They were captured on the Weldon Railroad outside Petersburgh, Va. August 19, 1864 and were held in three different prison camps ending up at Libby in Richmond. They were paroled back to the Union Army in January of 1865. By the way the pictures are copies as I keep the tintypes safely in the bank.
The picture in the oval frame is my dad when he was 2 years old. To tell the truth he hated that picture but today I proudly display it in my home.

Hi GB,
I finally managed to get them all posted. I don't know what happened. Probably being a new guy on the block didn't help.

I have one. I was doing a family tree and had placed a post on a website and about 1 1/2 years later, my cousin, whom I'd never met came across my post and contacted me. He emailed me this picture. His mother's grandmother. (His father and my mother are brother and sister.
