Hi all,
I'm looking for a replacement of the strap that came with my Canon 5D Mk3. I have the 24-105/f4L lens, battery grip and GPS module.
I've looked online and it's truly confusing. There're lots of choices there, B&H alone lists over a thousand items.
Some of the choices are - BlackRapid RS-2 Sport 2, Peak Design Slide Camera Strap SL-T-2, BosStrap.
My needs are comfortable wear (wide padded), adjustable length (I'm not tall!), sling capability and maybe something that also
looks good.
What would you recommend based on your experience?
Thanks, Sam

I've been using Op/Tech for years. Works for me, I'm short too!
I am also an op/tech gal, and I have a heavy 50D, my quick release gel strap has been great for the last 7 years. And the clips have never failed whether I have the short hand strap or the neck part on. I've heard other members say the clips have failed on other brands. Not my op/tech!
For those of you that haven't tried it you should research the Peak Design Slide. There are lots of YouTube videos on the design and use of them. First strap/sling I have ever been completely happy with. I have one on each body and it is very handy and comfortable strap.

My problem with Peak is that the camera is fixed to the strap using the tripod mount on the bottom of the camera. I would rather use the lugs on the side of the camera. That is what they are designed for.
Upstrap makes, in my view, the best, most comfortable straps. The patented product clings wonderfully to your shoulder and makes any camera seem lighter.
You don't have to take my word for it as Upstrap is the only one Steve Kelby uses and strongly recommends.
Has anyone had any experience with the Carry Speed strap?
Used to use Black Rapid. The strap was comfortable, but since I keep an L-bracket on my camera all the time, it was a pain to unscrew from the tripod socket when I wanted to use my tripod, not to mention the security of that system. I found myself constantly tightening it. So, I changed to the Peak Design system. The quick releases are secure and fast, and it's super easy to change from tripod to shoulder strap to wrist strap almost instantly. Great product!
GO TO A STORE AND TRY THEM OUT!!!

What is a store? I have to go tree counties over to go to the last full camera store in a nine county area.

Black Rapid also has a strap that attaches at each end to the camera lugs. It leaves the 1/4-20 screw at the bottom free for whatever. I have the strap, they use a different method of quick-connect than the usual two-prong, it is really secure.
Black Rapid has a strap that attaches to the camera lugs instead of the 1/4-20 on the bottom. This leaves it free for a clamp or whatever. They also use a different quick-release instead of the usual two-prong, it's not going to break.
