In the beginning of life on the Islands, people would whitewash ( lime?) their buildings to protect the wood, and oil was added to the whitewash. Then along the line Europeans, probably the English, were stuck with paint which was either no good or because of the colours, it would not sell. The Madelinots bought it and replaced the whitewash, but still only for the protection of the wood and the colours were not factor. However over the years these strange colours created a sort of competitive thing and so it became part of their culture and now today the competition is still going strong...believe me!

Been a "lean" photo week...but I saved a few for Free Sunday. It has been a very hot humid week. Tried to convey that when I processed a field of wildflowers and some grasses. Did some zooming and double exposures for layering.

Very nice Pat. I love the field of flowers

no small feat that discovers subject should be overlooked
your location is vast and great opportunity lays before you
on the other hand my work is small scaled but there's my
opportunity to conceive the what's/what with my ideas
