Alan, we have all been there done that. I even read Scott Kelby leaving his kit in NY when the family went on vacation to Italy and he had to buy a 7000 at full-pop retail. There is so much room for error. I have 60D & 6D. There batteries are the LP-E6/LP-E6(n). I have battery grips on the bodies. When I hit the field with kit & Kaboodle I am carrying a total of 8 batteries. There has been times I only had one and it ran out. I found that by heating the battery by rubbing it I has able to pull 8 more shots out.
You will most likely pass camera store, big box that will sell batteries buy one or two. Run ito a canon guy ask about charger. I charged a guys battery while eating lunch.
Good luck! Just watch for an opportunity to fix the problem and don't chimp!

Just shoot yourself. Or, you can google the closest camera store, or you can google B&H or Adorama and have one overnighted to your location.
Does your camera have an USB port and can it be charged from an iPhone, iPad power cube? There are smartphone stores than camera stires these days, so that might be an option.
How about going to a camera store and paying them a few bucks to fully charge your battery while you relax and have an adult beverage, etc?

Looking for a little advice. Currently, in Rocky Mountain National Park, Heading through Utah Canyon lands to San Diego with my Canon 60D with 1/2 battery charge. Was excited about the prospects along the way, but my forgetfulness left the charger at home. Will be able to have shipped to San Diego, but will miss Utah Parks. Would it be better to rely on cell phone camera or try to find a point and shoot, like the Nikon CoolPix which uses easily replaceable batteries?
Alan, Canon's BG-E9 vertical battery grip comes with a holder for AA batteries to be used when no power is available to charge your batteries or when you forget the charger. I have one for each camera body and I highly recommend getting one. B&H could ship you one to Moab and have it there tomorrow. Just an idea. Enjoy, J. Goffe
call Adorama or B&H and t hey will ship a charger one next day delivery! If they have a car plug in get one of those shipped too!
Too bad I can't ship you a few of my extras, since I've done this a time or two (or three). However, even at the most remote state parks, even in Alaska, I asked about where I could get a charger shipped (like the park office) and I've gotten it in a day or 2, every time. I agree, call ahead to where you will be, and ask if you can have something shipped there. We saw a UPS truck driving on a steep, curvy, Virginia mountain road, one time, and sure enough, he was getting my charger delivered within the one day shipping deadline.

Alan, You are in Loveland Co, and I'm visiting in Hudson some 50 miles from you. I have a Canon LC-E6 charger for 5Diii with me (battery LP-E6). If you want to take the time I'll meet you somewhere and loan you the charger.
When you finish you trip you can return it.

You are a good man Norman!
A much better suggestion than telling him he should always carry a spare battery.

You should invest in at least two spare batteries when you get home. I never go on any trip without my charger AND spare batteries already charged. And if I happened to forget my charger, the spare batteries are always in my camera bag.

He needs to buy them on the road. Then it's most likely fixed.

Same thing happened to me a month ago as I was starting out on a 3.5 week road trip from Illinois to Nevada and Back via scenic roads. I discovered that I had left my 60D charger at home but I found a great universal charger at Walmart (also at Best Buy) that I picked up in Montrose CO. $30 and has adjustable contact points so will work on a variety of batteries. It is now my "travel charger". Go to the camera departments of a good sized Walmart or other big-box store and you should have no problem finding a replacement. BTW, the charger I picked up was a Digipower model TC-U450
Amazon prime one to your next address.
This is a good idea that I had not thought of. I have a variety of other small electronic connectors in the car--why not the camera?
