You do NOT want to do Canyon Lands without your "real" camera! At all cost either find more batteries (charged) or a charger. Batteries Plus is a good source, but depending on your camera they might not have your battery. B&H will drop shop overnight. Call them.

turn off your preview and do not look at any of the images you take. That screen drains batteries

Unless you are driving on BLM back roads all the way, you'll pass through Flagstaff, Phoenix, possibly Las Vegas, Barstow, Victorville, metro Los Angeles, Orange County, etc. Someplace will have a Best Buy where you can get a Canon battery charger for < $40.

There's no camera store where or near where you are that won't charge your battery while you have lunch? There must be a camera store in such a highly photographed area, and I'm sure they would help you out.

I had to buy a battery for a Sony NEX 6/7 from a battery store in Jackson Hole, WY. I think it cost $70. Use the cell phone. You'll be impressed and save some money.

Call Canon, and explain the situation to them. I did the same but with a NIKON camera (much better IMHO) Anyway, I called them and they directed me to three camera stores within 50 miles of me. Called the closest one and they could not sell me a charger but would charge a battery for me and all I had to do was exchange mine for their charged one. Cool deal. MAKE THE CALL.

I believe my 60d came with an adaptor to be able to use regular batteries although it might have been my battery grip? I will have to check. Enjoy your trip!!!!

How about a camera rental store? if they rent lens maybe they have a charge to rent for a few days. How about a Best Buy?

there is a camera store on the main st. in Moab Ut. last summer there was anyways, where you can get a charger or sure there is one in the bigger cities along the way

If you can find another camera, can't you find another charger as well? It seems cheaper. I wonder if you found a real camera store on the way and explained your predicament, they might allow you to use a charger for an hour or so.

Ho, hum...............when we went to Africa, I packed the charger and the extra battery and left the damn camera at home. LOL It was "only" my point and shoot, but I had my 60D. I was able to be a good Samaritan, tho, by lending the fully charged battery to a person in our safari vehicle that forgot their extra charged battery back in their room. :>)

I did this one time and had it shipped to the motel where I had reservations far enough into the future for it to be received before I arrived. Sometimes overnight shipments take two days so be careful about the location. Be sure to alert the motel of your actions. Just one more option.
Your might get lucky and run into another canon shooter.
