In the short time I have been on UHH I have noticed a few trends. There are people who post pictures of pets, family members and their back yards that are more sentimental than photographic. Most of you trolerate this, and tell them how cute, or that's nice, knowing that the shot is far from a WALL HANGER. Then there are people like myself who are trying to move up from such photos, to trying to improve the quality of photography. You are honest, and I want that, and I learn from it. Others are similar to myself, but think they are GREAT photographers, and want opinions, but when you say what you fell, get upset and snap back. Sure sometimes they get it right and we tell them that, but life isn't perfect! Of course I can't forget the beginner who wants to start a buisiness and hasn't got a clue as to what he is doing. Not talking about the ones who do know somehting and are trying to advance their hobby into a money maker. Then there are the professionals here, who are most of the time tolerent of all the others. They want to help us learn how to become better, and will give good sound advice, in a polite way. And last of all there are those who might be professional, and some who are not, who think lots of people on here Shouldn't be here, and are rude and very condicending. I have seen a little of everything on here, and love it. We are all different, and from different backgrounds. Some young, some old, some lucky shots, some very well planned shots. If you have anything else to add please fell free to do so. P.S. I have thick skin so go ahead and tell me if I'm wrong! I post some very poor pictures, and I post some pretty good ones. That's because I'm learning, and it's because of ALL of YOU.

Basically, we asked ADMIN to create the Photo Gallery for photographers seeking approval, and Photo Analysis for photographers seeking constructive criticism.

Sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn't.

yes we did, but I still don't have a clue what the analysis forum is really for because when someone posts asking for C&C in that forum he moves it to the gallery??? According to the by-line for the analysis form you have to have a direct question regarding your image, so if you just want general C&C because your not sure if the image as a whole works, you shoudl post in the general forum.

another thing to consider about this website and the quality level of the photos is this. Yes there are a few pros and many seriously good amateurs on here, but there is also alot of snapshooters (not meant derogatory, we all started out snapshooters) who are just taking the first steps towards metamorpising into a photographer. the standards for snapshooting are lower than the standards of what makes a good photograph. been here since last august and have always found something good to say about all photos posted here untill yesterday when i ran into 3 photos thatstunk the place up. out of focus, angeled horizion,no subjet of interest. even as snapshots they stunk.decided not to burst the persons bubble and left the thread alone.
