I like the B&W, best. It does convey a harshly cold, bitter day.
The color does look fake but I've gotten the same results, too.
The brightened picture appears as though the sun is just about to burst through the clouds.
Sepia adds an interesting twist to make photos look old.
for this shot I like B&W but it should have more contrast
I think b&W does more for this photo then color. BTW, very nice shot.

Here is a picture I took of a windmill during a snowstorm several years ago. Does it look better in color, or in black and white?
Black and white , stands out and looks better, crisper.

B&W works for me in this scene. Well composed and moody. 8-)
Black and White. Nice picture.
For the most part (not always) I like winter shots in B&W and this holds true for your shot also. I think it projects a sense of cold and abandonment---that's the story it tells me.......

B&W is better, for sure. The blue doesn't look natural at all. I have also taken blue snow shots and now know how to avoid it, thanks to good photographers who are willing to help.
BTW, the vignetting was there in the originals too, just not as noticeable.
I too like your B/W more....

The B&W is the better of the two. The shot is underexposed; if you want the snow to be white, try bumping up the brightness and contrast.
I upped the brightness and contrast some more, and lowered the saturation of blue and cyan. Does this look better? Now it has some serious vignetting, but I kind of like it.
I liked your second posting much better.
The first black and white makes me shiver. Brrrr. Like it very much.
