The easiest way to fix this issue is by YOU calling your credit card company and adding your work address as a "second authorized" delivery address, simple. Canon is not at fault here as the easiest way to fraudulently use someones credit card is to use it to order something and have that item sent to THEIR address, or a PO box address. Sending a package to the registered address of the credit cards is the best way to verify that the USER is getting the package. Its a simple solution, don't blame Canon, at least not this time.

Credit card company approved it I send anything of value to my office many times .If Canon had a question they could have called or emailed, the person that took the order could have said something I have had an account there for 3 years when I registered my SX50 and bout a remote shutter info has not changed

I don't care what you end up with, but you are being an idiot (with due respect) and reacting emotionally in a situation that could happen with any vendor, also potentially penalizing yourself on a good purchase.

I don't see this as vendor issue, but an issue with buying online, and one that you have unfortunately now had experience with. If you are upset, please at least place the blame in the correct place.

On the other hand this situation may still be able to be rescued if approached in the right manner.

If the camera is not in my hands by Wednesday leaving work I will get the comparative model from Nikon on my way home. The only Canon I own right now is my SX50 so not invested yet at all.The capper was the smug ahole telling me "the hold should expire in 3 or 4 days" and "these things happen" He was just lucky my grandkids were in the same room with me

Why are you buying new directly from Canon in the first place? Was there a special deal. You probably would have been better off going through B&H or Adorama.

I can see buying refurbs direct from Canon, but I've never considered buying new from them. People do it, though.

I am So pissed at Canon right now they canceled my new camera order "because it's being shipped to a different address than billing, Of course I want to get it at work instead of having it sit on my front porch until 7pm ,not in my neighborhood. Called customer DISservice today and he said he'd fix it his fix was to resubmit the order and than bill my CC again , of course with the hold already on the card for the original purchase it would be denied. So much for taking it Shooting Eagles on Thursday doubt it will be here by the time I can call the bank drop the hold than get ahold of Canon especially since I can't really get time for phone conversations until after work Monday. than to top it off and rub salt in the wound he says "I'll hold this order open for ya the hold should be off in 3 to 4 days" So mad I'm looking at Nikons online right now

Not a Canon guy-- but I wouldn't switch for these reasons. I often ship to a different address for security reasons, so although these are probably anti-fraud measures, they aren't convenient. Have you ordered from them before? Never ordered directly from Nikon-- so they could have the same policy

Get over it! Canon is trying to protect you (your money).
It is an anti fraud protocol. You should have contacted them and arranged delivery to work ahead of time or some other pick up arrangement. I have never dealt with anyone who would bill to one address and ship to another unless it was prearranged, such as a gift etc.
If someone had used your card number and ordered something sent to them somewhere besides your billing address you would really have something to be steamed about.

Canon customer service is tops in my opinion. I purchased a refurbished camera directly from Canon and it came with the wrong charger. Talked with them, a supervisor actually, and they expedited a replacement shipment and included a very nice genuine camera case free for my inconvenience.

That can be annoying, but it's a security measure. Years ago while on vacation, our VHS camcorder broke, so we ordered a new one. Same problem with address. Luckily for us, we went shopping locally and decided to get an 8mm camcorder.

Nikon makes Great cameras once you get past all the recalls! I for one hate sending camera's back for recall which happens with Nikon all too much!

You have to give Canon a pass on this one. Their is so much fraud online and deliveries. I sold Nikon D800 online and it was delivered and disappeared. UPS and my insurance company would not make good on the loss.
Just chill out and enjoy the Canon when you get it.

My wife does know and is in favor of it. I don't want it stolen off my porch ,or there being no one to sign for it shipping to my office fixes both problems

Frustrating, but work through it.
It will be worth it in the end.
Canon can improve their contact and process perhaps.
In the end I think they are just trying to protect you and your purchase.
