Hear we go with the which is the better camera again. When I first got my mark II 5D. I thought it had a Af problem. But after I read about the focusing of the Camera and knew what I was doing for a change. I found there was not a problem with the Af focus. It was just me. The bull goes on. Both Camera Companies are just as good as the other.get over it ! I meant one guy who said his Nic was better then the Can because the battery didn't last as long. Again stop the Bull and let's help each other with taking pictures.

I agree with whiplash3333. There are so many cameras and many of them are totally comparable. I happen to have started with Nikon and I am not switching now when I have several lenses, etc. I really want to learn how to take better pics and to learn from all you out there who have been doing this a long time. Nobody wants to read these blogs with all the arguing.

Thanks for sharing this. I heard something about it yesterday while I was out and was going to start a thread myself when I got back to my computer and then completely forgot to when I did.

Was your brain fried?

I must also commend Nikon for the way they are handling this recall. You call in your serial number to Nikon and they confirm whether or not is a recall item. They then send out a UPS courier to recover the bad battery and hand deliver a replacement to you on the spot.
Now THATS the way to handle a problem!!!!
KUDOS Nikon!
(And a perfunctory BOO to Sony who manufactures these batteries for Nikon cameras.)

I did a check myself just now, EL9 and EL14 for my two
cameras, whew, I don't like "fry". Not crazy about my
Sony Laptop either. Their products have been in my home
for many years, but I'll never get another Sony computer.
Thanks to all UHH folks for all your help. A shot just for fun.

Love those train shots. This one seems to be leaning to the right. Ok with me. I also lean to the right.

I read that Nikon is recalling certain batches of the EN-EL15 battery that is used in the D800, D7000 and Nikon 1 V1. Supposedly some batteries can short circuit and fry your camera. Nobody wants that to happen! Here's a link to the Nikon website for more information.

THANK YOU CSI DAVE !
I have a brand new D7000 which uses the EN-EL15 battery. As it turns out neither of two my batteries are the E or F model number in the recall but I feel much better knowing that.
Thanks again.
