Thanks Erv, and we did visit some very productive places and when you guys head in that direction, can point out several places that were very enjoyable for us! Hope Janny is continuing to improve, and you guys take care!

Really good set Corky, I know sweet nothing about Egrets but the colour does seem unusual from things I've seen before?

Thanks you so much for the very kind words and looking Doc, and always love hearing from you! They can be so much fun to watch as they love to run around while sometimes partially raising their wings and also making quick turns and twists. I missed the best shot by not focusing properly, and what a shame as it was a great pose. Changing subjects, I was in Wild Birds Unlimited recently and purchased a book titled "Dragonflies through BINOCULARS, a field guide to dragonflies of North America" by Sidney W. Dunkle. I haven't taken much time to look, but just browsing through it seems to be set up nicely with maps and plates toward the back and the basic information on each species toward the front. Just about every time I visit the store I check out their book section, but somehow guess I had failed to see this one and it's price was reduced by one half and couldn't resist a deal! I'm sure there are many books about dragonflies, but wondered that if by chance you was familiar with this one? Thanks again and Spring is on the way! Take care!

Thanks so much for kind words, smiley face and thumbs up Angela, and I really like that one also. Think that I went back three times to make slight changes on it today before posting, trying to get enough light for the eye without blowing out some of the head coloring! I think the first three were taken on the way down the coast and the last three taken on the return a few days later. I used the SX 50 yesterday to take a shot of the one hibiscus bloom on the plant, but had it on auto. I need to go online and read needed sections of the instruction book. Had been so long since I'd had even used the Nikon that I had to stop and think about using some of it's controls! Take care!
Thanks so much for kind words, smiley face and thu... (show quote)

LOL... that happens to me Corky, if I use one camera for a long time, I get a brain freeze when I pick up the other one!! Most of the time I use AV setting in the SX50 which allows you to change the aperture and I also use the exposure compensation quite a bit. I'm sure whatever setting you use, the pictures will be great!!

Have fun and think spring!!

:-D
