Excellent captures Swamp-.Cork. I have never seen these birds.

Thanks for the kind words and for looking, Chuck. We made several trips down before seeing our first one. It's very comical watching them rush around twisting and turning with wings sometimes flared when pursuing the prey; of course, sometimes they also feed in more conventional manners! The best image that I have ever seen of this bird was posted quite some time ago by fellow UHH member Rusty Nails. If you go to the second page of his topics listings and click on Reddish Egret, you will see one fantastic capture! Take care!

Thanks very much for the kind words and taking time to respond Merry, and yes it was fun, and actually covered several day on Black Point Trail which is located on Merritt Island, Florida. I think the first three were taken on the first day down and the second three taken on our return trip several days later, when returning from several places south of there. It's really a nice trail about seven miles long and you can view many birds and a few gators without getting out of your vehicle. Hope you guys and Tucker are all doing well and again thanks!

Thanks very much for the kind words and for looking, Jim and always glad to hear from you. We had some of your Florida weather today with close to 70 degree temperatures--really nice but know it won't stay that way! Thanks, again and take care!

Nice shots of the Reddish Egret. I enjoy seeing them run after the small fish. So funny. Nice job...

Thanks, Walter and they really are so much fun to watch. We usually try to make a trip down for a few days in late February, early March but don't know if we will make it this year, as my wife Ellen is having knee problems, but mentally I'm down there with those beautiful wading birds! I don't know if you saw my comments to another person on this page, but one of the most beautiful post of a Reddish Egret that I've seen was posted by Rusty Nails on page 2 of his My Topics listings and if you get a chance I thing you would enjoy it! Take care!
