If you have your mind made up on the D7200 I think you ought to revisit a refurbished one. They are put back into like new condition. With that said only buy from a reputable firm such as Nikon, Adorama, B&H, Cameta or KEH.

Not necessarily the case...just purchased a New Sigma 17-50mm f2.8
Included all Standard Sigma covers, hood & case...free shipping at an Excellent price. .verified serial number with Sigma all checked out full 4 year Sigma warranty. ..just relating my experience...Normally I buy from B+H...got this deal through Amazon. ..so I felt better about trying 42n st. Photo out...Satisfied. !!

Were talking about a Nikon camera and not a Sigma lens. At that price, it's grey market and if it needs warranty work or a repair you'll have to send it out of the country. They AREN'T an authorized NIKON dealer.

Just keep a few things in mind.
BIG difference between "used" and "refurbished"

Watch warranties. Cameta gives a full year warranty on refurbs, most others give you 90 days.

If you get a brand new camera, you have probably a better chance of a defect, than with a refurb.

New cameras come off an assembly line, put in a box and sent out.

A refurb has been gone over by someone, who made sure that everything was fixed and working properly.

In the past 4 years, I've purchased 6 refurbs from Cameta. My next purchases will all be refurbs as well.

If there isn't a problem with it in the first year, then there probably isn't going to be a problem. If there is, you can still get it serviced. You never know if you buy a used camera from ebay, if it was REALLY a US model or not.

Yes thanks a lot for the info. This is the Great thing about uglyhedgehogs we can learn so much from each other.
A one year warranty on a referb is awesome. And referbs usually are a better deal than new especially with a warranty like that.

Hi, I have decided on a Nkon D7200 and was wondering if any of you that keep up with all the latest news have any idea when there will be a price drop? I'm in no hurry, but I was hoping to get one a little cheaper. Don't want a refurbished one, The camera I get will be with mea very long time, as I still have the same rebel from 10 years ago. I don't get all the latest and greatest! LOL There wasn't any special sales through the holidays which I was hoping for. I saw a great deal on the D5500 recently at BestBuy but after playing with both, I'm drawn to the 7200. Any idea??? thanks

You will know if the person says it' s a US product and shows The side panel of the box showing the serial number and the us prefix.

Sorry to inform you, but Nikon no longer offers this camera new. Your wait could be long.
