As I was processing this close-up of a white horse behind the brown one, I felt that it could be an image of a horse dreaming about another horse. Did I succeed in conveying that mood? If not, your suggestions would be much appreciated :)

Had you not described anything I would not have picked up on that. It is however and exquisite photo. I've no suggestion.

Thank you kindly, Frank. Not a concept we give a lot of thought, I'm sure :)

Firstly, very nice image. Very soft, pleasing tones.

If you hadn't mentioned the theme, I probably would not have guessed the image was about a horse dreaming of another horse. The second, "ghostly" horse seems more like part of the background and not an important element. Maybe if this second horse were positioned less behind the first horse, it would appear to have more significance. However, it does very much look like the first horse is deep in thought!

Thanks so much, rook. I greatly appreciate your time and opinions. Who knew horses could be deep thinkers? :)

Maybe its a 'gender thing' but I immediately thought of the scenario. I really like this photo, Linda. It has a lot of texture besides the light/dark contrasts.

Now that's an interesting thought, Debbie! And maybe I could get it used for a cover of a romance novel :)

Thanks so much for your time and comments. I'm glad you like it!

At Linda's kind request I am posting a haiga inspired by her sensitive image.

The original wording was:

Pensive horse
Another
On the mind

But later I though a change was reasonably in order.

"Pensive-with another on the mind"

You're just the romantic, Linda. :-D I wouldn't have picked up on that theme, but now that you mention it... It's such a soft, beautiful image, and the first thought that came to mind was a close friendship between these two gorgeous animals.

Thanks so much for your time and lovely comments, Donna. Maybe it's a happier ending to know the "dream" horse is real so they can enjoy their close friendship!

Horses are unlikely to dream in reality but they do show complete contentment which is what you have captured here.
They are a pack animal and this look shows on the face of a horse with a friend close by
They then just sorta stand around looking as astonishingly gorgeous as your friend here.
Or perhaps the do dream of wearing that amazing hand tooled saddle they spotted at the last horse show or making whoopee with the stud in the next field lol
Beautiful snap with some quite wonderful PP work. I would hang this on the cracked and peeling walls of Billyspad.

Linda, first of all this is a beautiful, sensitive shot. I grew up with horses and still am delighted when I see them.

The brown horse definitely has a far away expression. He is not directly looking at the white horse which adds to the mystery of his thoughts. I can easily see you interpretation. Or possibly he is just in a very contented trance. Either way it is totally charming.
