well it happened lighting hit the computer and wiped out everything, have to start all over again. load programs and plugins and everything. it sure scared me. I was out side and it hit 2 feet away from me the flash of light was so brilliant and the crack of the lighting hitting was so loud I ran so hard to get in the house and my dog was hiding between the wall and the toilet he is afraid of storms. I did have everything backed up. just going to be a while to load everything again.

Bad lick indeed! At least you and the pooch are still fine.
Maybe sneak indoors and pull some plugs next time you hear rumbling.

you are VERY LUCKY, lightening, even a close strike can cream (destroy) semiconductors (transistors), and usually does. You are lucky that the only usable part left was not your computers line cord, everything and I mean everything else could have been turned to garbage..

Hopefully your luckier than you think, mine took a hit once too and it turned out only the power supply was fried, very inexpensive to fix and all my info was still on my hard drive.

That lightning can be extremely scary, I have had a a few close calls all within 100 feet, don't care much for that!
