Can't get Windows 10.

This thing sounds like the old “worms crawl in, the worms crawl out song”, only in this case its bugs. I had already done some research on 10, and decided I did not want it.

Like I said, I deleted the update, and icon from my computer. This in its self, took me 30 minutes of insistent deleting to get rid of it. Anything anyone wants to give you that bad! has to have something wrong with it, and windows 10 does. I get enough spying on my computer from just connecting to the internet, let alone invite it. WIndows 10 is not for me, and never will be.

I understand. I like it very much. Great improvement over Win 7, 8, 8.1 I think MS hit a homerun this time.

We all have our individual preferences.

Thanks. Nice to hear some positive comments.

BTW: Some bells & whistles I am discovering:
1. right clicking on the Windows icon (Start) brings up a menu chock full of Win 7 old familiar features - such as control Panel,
Device Manager, File Explorer (similar to Win 7 computer/Explorer) and a host of other handy options
2. In the system tray - left side - is a "computer screen". Clicking it displays every open window (individual windows) Very COOL!!
3. The "shopping bag - also in the system tray - opens all the "stuff" (apps, ...) you can download and/or buy. Be careful - it may spend all your money. LOL
4. Windows Media is not built in(for playing music files, videos,...) I am now using itunes (Apple). It's a free download. If you own an iphone/ipad and use your PC for backup, it's probably already installed. It has to be set as the default program, but it works perfectly(so far)

Perhaps others will find this helpful.

I went through this for about a week. Every time the machine started, Win10 wanted to download, but it couldn't, and it didn't know why. Someone pointed me to a site where I can download it onto a flash drive and run the setup program from that. I started at 1:20 yesterday afternoon, and it was done by this morning. I had Acronis True Image 2011 on that machine, and I had to uninstall it and then start the setup all over again.

Luckily, I still have the link for the site where you can get the download. Choose the 32 or 64-bit version and take it from there. I installed it on a Dell XPS 8500 from 2012.

Thanks Jerry I took the plunge and down loaded the tool for windows 10. I started at 11 am yesterday and this morning it was up and running. Have been playing with it since 8 this morning and so far I can't find anything I don't like and it is very fast. What a difference.
