Thanks for looking, MattPhox and very glad you liked, and you probably have read my reply to gwr, which explains a little more about the birdhouse.

I had missed your reply. Thanks.

This home inspection occurred in the spring and I happen to have my camera with me while looking at some hanging baskets. Noticed some movement and quickly took the shots of this Prothonotary Warbler home looking. Unfortunately she left without signing a contract. I cannot really blame her, because when I later checked I found the old nest had not been removed, and also ants had taken up residence, but fortunately she did nest next door.

Great shots Corky, love the series, glad she took up residence next door

What a great set...I laughed all the way through. These do remind me of my wife when we arrive at a new motel. Great Job!

Thanks for looking, Greg and very glad you liked! They are very beautiful little birds that always reminds me of the swamps. Also several evenings ago was able to get some decent shots of an immature Barred Owl. Took way to many pictures, and must now process and decide which ones to keep! Also have shots from about a week ago of this owl with one of the adults, but don't believe that those shots were as good --must go back and check! Take care!

So glad you enjoyed, Jan and thanks for looking! Every time I see one I think of you! A few are still around but you do not hear them singing like in the Spring, so are more difficult to locate.

Thanks, and thanks for looking--Used Nikon 7100, Tamron 150-600 lens at 600mm, f6.3, 1/1000 sec. and ISO 1600.

Nice ones, Corkie. Have you tried f8? I use the same combination & I find that f8 is noticeably sharper than f6.3. After doing much testing, I could tell no difference in the sharpness from f8 to f16, so I use F8 all the time with this lens. Your shots are great. :-) :D

Thanks for the tip, Earl! Will sure give it a try. The main reason for f6.3 was to let in as much light as possible and still use a reasonable shutter speed, as it seems that I'm almost always needing more light, but will try to squeeze in a little higher iso and cut the speed just a little. One thing I noticed late this afternoon as I was trying to capture a Goldfinch and my meter was indicating one and a half to two stops underexposed, but took a test shot anyway, and appears that the Bright goldfinch came through needing very little adjustment and would think it would look great against a very dark background, although I haven't downloaded from the camera and played with it yet. I have tried using f 8 and even f16 sometimes when trying to increase the depth of field. Again thanks for the suggestions and would really like to improve the sharpness of the captures! Take care!

Really enjoyed the series, Swamp-Cork. Great color to the bird, who really stands out well against the grey birdhouse. Fun!
