Night photography for me is anything photographed once the sun is below the horizon and prior to its peaking over the horizon the next morning. It will be fun to see the various ways you interpret the title and apply it to your images. Try to include some tip that will help others in their night photography in your comments, if possible. I would appreciate your help with comments. You see so much that I might miss and I do have a full week so may not get to everyone's great images.
Do not let night photography frighten you. Sometimes, I just try a setting and see how it works and then adjust. It really isn't difficult. HAVE FUN!

Dancers at a school musical
I love taking pics of the moon. For these I focused on the branches/leaves to make a silhouette.
I really like the dancers and the blurred one really gives the impression of movement.
The moon with the branches is so dramatic! Wish I had thought of it.

Thanks! I only take a few minutes when the moon is out. :-)

I wasn't prepared for this one so I had to go to my archives this morning. However I am eager for this evening as I have a 'night landscape' feature on my camera which I haven't really tried out yet.
a train station after dark somewhere in Quebec
an anoymous drummer
a broody, cloudy night sky
somebody's new truck!
A great start Elizabeth. I will take time to look at your tutorial links. For now....a few from the archives.....

Love this topic too. Sorry to be using archives, but that is the best I can do right now.

Very nice examples. I only have one camera right now the Canon SX50 which does not take the greatest night shots.
This is one I took from the balcony of our hotel in Honolulu.
Wow, Fred Ann, you don't need a special mode for your camera. These are beautiful. I like your trucks, like night monsters ready to pounce. The drummer is a great abstract. Good job!

Irene, your lake is so peaceful, I want to spend an hour there. The patterns on the Corvette show up so well at night. I never would have thought of that. Nice work!
