THEY HAVE INFESTED THE US
But if Douglas named it you should believe him.

Absolutely STINKBUG! They come in both brown and green and in all shades between. Handle one and you'll then know for sure - they are pungent!

Scrape them off into a hot frying pan with some extra virgin olive oil and have a great little TV-watching snack!

Young Stinkbug. They turn gray as they mature.
In this area you can buy Lady Bugs by the 100 count at the local feed stores to control unwanted guests. They are harmless and helpful.

I will have to go looking for aphids now. Do those awful orange ladybugs eat aphids? It would give me a reason to like them better.
Between them leaving a yellow trail and their smell I would rather spray my aphids with something.....LOL
That is what I call a stink bug....

The awful orange ladybugs are actually Multi-colored Asian Lady beetles (and they bite). Native Ladybugs are red and do not bite humans.
I forgot about that, yes they do bite .....well I used to be human...lol
They brought them in to eat the bugs that were eating the soybeans....so now we need something to eat them.....and I am not hungry.....

I thought it was, "If it moves, shoot it, and if it doesn't, paint it." I think there was a "Salute it" in there somewhere, too. I once saluted my lieutenant when he was driving his VW while holding an ice cream cone. He almost killed himself trying to salute back.

Also, don't squash the Asian beetles it they're on your clothes. You'll get a stain that's pretty much impossible to get out. Same thing if you nail one when it's on your skin but it seems to was off easier, and you'll save yourself from an irritating bite and an ugly red welt. Been there done that. 8-)
But they bite and they get in your house. That's two things I don't like about them.

Lady bugs, yes, are a good critter but the Asian variety, well, you get bit by one and then let us know what you think. 8-)
