These were discovered today on the vines in the back yard

WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY... ROFL
Here is how I control aphids.
"No Spot" Ladybird beetle (Cycloneda sanguinea) dining on an Oleander aphid (Aphis nerii)

I will have to go looking for aphids now. Do those awful orange ladybugs eat aphids? It would give me a reason to like them better.

Yep that's what I said, I'm new at all this and want to photograph everything, never thought I couldn't wait to see dandelions either :D
i hear yuh if it moves shoot it if it dont shoot it anyway lol
Eeewwwwww!!! I hope "in hiding" is far away from me and I don't have to worry about these critters anytime soon!! We have the ants that 'herd' the aphids and keep most of them under control. Now, I have to get a flashlight and go check my rosebushes!!!!
But, I have to say....your photograph does make the little buggers look interesting.
Can someone tell me what this is? I shot it today in the woods.... Sorry I know it is blured...
He He HE, it's a bug. Looks like a hopper of some kind. :D

Was it shaped like a shield? Looks like the back side of a stink bug to me.

Yes they do eat aphids. You can buy a container with about 2000 lady bugs in it for about $10. We did it and within a few days the aphids were gone and then the lady bugs flew off to find more.
Good photos by the way!

It appears to be a katydid.
