Does anybody think that film cameras will become collectable in the future?

Yes. Mine are collecting dust.

Anything can be a collectible. Some film cameras are highly sought after while others cannot be given away.

Collectors like items which are rare or unusual. It's doubtful that popular, mass produced film cameras will be sought after.

They already are. It makes things expensive for those of us who actually use them

Yeah, film cameras that one could easily pick up for $10-15 a decade ago now cost 5x as much, and sometimes significantly more, depending on the camera's rarity or historical significance. Related accessories are going up as well. I really think this is mostly because of collectors, not users. The same price increase is happening with old manual lenses too, although this has likely more to do with the emerging popularity of converting them to digital mirrorless cameras.

Probably just a matter of time until the consumer plastic point-and-shoot cameras from the 1980's and 90's will also become serious collectibles. For now, you can still find these at flea markets and garage sales for pocket change.

I'd certainly like to find someone who'd pay me a lot of money for a couple of Nikon F4s.

No they will never be collectable. They will just take up space. Best thing to do is post them to me and I will house them free of charge.

Collectable, sure. Valuable no, unless they have some specific rarity value. Think VHS recorder or 18ct gold and diamond encrusted iPhone 3GS...., previously owned by Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton or Elvis Presley for example....

I've never seen that adapter. Cool. Leica screw mount lenses are a good example of prices going up because of new mirrorless lenses.

I know that I am a pain in the ass, but any thing ca be given away, after all you can always give it to the trash collector

Ed Mika replacement mounts, not so much an adapter, a complete custom mount conversion. Works well for some lenses, with some limitations and potential issues for certain lens / FF body combinations.

Subject to heated debate over the value. Definitely not an easy fix all solution, and mostly only interesting to a few, some might say eccentric, Canon users...

Here are a couple more converted lenses....

Full function, infinity focus, manual lenses, old but decent usable glass....

Holly crap Peter, are you saying that, that gold plated, diamond encrusted iPhone Lindsay Lohan gave me for letting her hide in my trunk so she wouldn't have to go to jail, might actually be worth something?!?!

Ok. Too bad no one can come up with something like the LTM-M mount adapter. Probably has to do with flange distance or something along those lines
