I have it as an icon on my desktop

Effects 9 free also appears in my program drop down ... standalone. I used it this weekend and was impressed. Immediately I was able to put clouds in a dull clear FL gray sky.

I think it is important to set the save preferences.

I tried installing it in PSE-10, but the section was grayed out??
It took me a bit to realize that the "saved product" appears with a "copy" label.

If any one knows the steps to install in PSE-10 differing from the instructions given by OnOne... Please tell me.

I am trying to download this program or plug-in and get a message from my Virus Scanning program called ESET. It says it has a Trojan on this site... No matter whether I try to download the Plug-ins or the program. Any one know what is going on.

Does Perfect Effects 9 run independent of lightroom or can it be downloaded or moved from the desktop into it?

I have it on my desktop but could have sworn I watched a video where it was installed directly into lightroom on the left side panel under navigation.

Hi Dan....from what I read in this entire post is you somewhat needing to better understand computer lingo. All of these PS9 presets come to you as a compressed file, to save space.....and this process is called a Zip file. All one needs to do in PS9 is to DD Click that Zip file and PS9 will prompt you automatically for installation. Once they are installed, they are available in LR, PS and PSE.

However, PS9 Suite can be used as a stand alone app. Better yet, onOne has wonderful and user friendly videos for your perusal. Enjoy.

You don't install in anyone application. If you have a licensed copy of PPS9 or 8 or earlier, during the installation process, PPS9 will recognize your host apps (PS, PSE) and when that occurs, check OK. PPS can be used as a plug-in or as a stand alone app.

Oh and it's important to know that PSE or PS must be installed PRIOR to installing PPS9 or earlier.

I think...but clearly im not expert here...that
Effects 9 might be stand alone as part of the SUITE
I was able to download other freebies from on1 into lightroom5 but not the Perfect Effects 9
also took me a while to realize that EXTRACT was code for unzip...

Wanta try to get to the free perfect effects program working? First check to see if it's already there. Open any photo in lightroom, go to Edit/Plug in extras and see if it's there. If not, I would try re downloading and installing the free version. I'm afraid all the tinkering may have hurt the first version that you were working with yesterday. Be sure lightroom is closed when it's installed or it won't work right. The first instructions I posted were for this installation. This won't affect the other plugins that you got last night.

Yes, I've seen instructions on the On One site for adding to Elements but I don't have it so not sure about it. First check and see if perhaps it automatically went there on its own. It would be under an Edit In or Plug In heading.

You have the option of using the plugins in Lightroon & Photoshop. The easist way to run it independantly is to move your picture to the desktop icon and drop it in. Or another way just click on the icon wich will open the program, then open the BROWSE modual chose the the area when you picture files reside(left side of screen). When the display pannel opens click on the picture you want to work on and send it to the modual you want to work on. For a complete tutural go to On1.com, there are videos of all the moduals and how to use them.

The "AppData" directory is a hidden directory. You will need to check the box to make hidden items available before "AppData" will show up.
