Best Photographers on the board..

I was pondering the question thinking after reading the reponses (including my own) that maybe the question the OP asked could have been who is the most helpful, I found that the list I have in my head is the same for both questions.
Yeah, and then who is the funniest, the nastiest, who has the best avatar, who asks the most stupid questions, etc. Junior high yearbooks do this type of thing. I'd like to avoid voting on popularity-type topics. But that's just me.
Bob Coker....not only is he good....but helpful, and can explain his stuff!....Captain also....just had some unsolicited help from Coker....and felt good that someone would take time out of there day and help a beginner.
I wish I was, I know I'm not and I really don't care much, but for sure there are excellent photographers in this bunch, who are willing to share good help to those who need it. In the meantime, I just enjoy the whole experience. Thanks
If I spent half the time on Photography as I do on woodworking, I may be a little bet better.

Another one who comes to mind is Alaskan. He has taken shots that make me forget to read on.
I'm with Tripsy. Alaskan has a great eye
Why was this question asked? What is/was the standards that anyone is judging by?
This board has a lot of very beneficial questions and information and some not so. I normally don't respond to many questions but this one just couldn't pass. Is popularity and the amount of responses given to this board what makes a good photographer in your opinion?
What does answering questions have to do with being a good photographer unless you are judging involvement in a board as part of the measurement.
I agree with the person who said that a question such as this really doesn't belong and should not be asked. Why not just go to your social media site if you need a personal boost in standing?

Actually Graham Nash is a great photographer.
Rather than names, maybe you should ask followers of your thread to post their ONE best shot. That way, YOU get to decide who has the stuff that interests you. Beauty (and best) will always be in the eyes of the beholder. There's a huge difference in a great portrait shot vs. a landscape shot. When I see something exceptional I like to ask questions of the photographer as to how s/he did it.

I know I'm one of them. I have refrained from posting my photos on this site because I don't like intimidating people.
And we thank you for that consideration!

I think I am squarely in the middle. There are some photographers here that put me to shame.
Naming who I think is the best serves no purpose but to hurt feelings and start debates so I will pass on that question.
No, I am not one them. There several that I listen to and practice what they say. There are many who only provide one biased point, instead of listening and learning.
Graham Nash is also a extremely knowledgeable person on printing (fine art printing) in addition to being a excellent photographer for the type of images I like. I first heard him speak at a photo/printing seminar about 20 years ago and again a year or so ago. In addition to his many other talents he is also a very kind person if you know anything about him.

CaptainC, Roger Hicks and Nikonian72 are three I can name off the top of my head (there are many others on this forum as well). They consistently give pretty level-headed advice based on experience without tooting the "I'm a pro, so you should listen to me" horn. I work with enough arrogant PhD's and scientists all day long; it's refreshing to get an honest humble opinion based on real-life experience and practice.
The other reason I respect these three more than most is because they have access to their work via a web link. I don't easily appeal to authority, but their photography work is OUTSTANDING, so to me they are the true definition of a pro.
p.s. Captain, Roger and Nikonian... I'll take a check paid to the order of "mdorn". Send me a private message for the mailing address. :-)

Don't leave out MT Shooter. He needs the money for more glass, so no check is necessary.

I agree. This kind of question does nothing but cause problems. Besides, someone who does work I like may not do work someone else would like.
Everyone has different tastes. That why they make Canon and Nikon cameras.

No, that's why they make Sony and Pentax and Olympus cameras (and a few others as well).
