What do you want to shoot? What is your experience? What is your budget? You have a lot of decisions to make before you think about brand. If you can get to a store, handle both. Compare apples to apples (do not compare Point and Shoot to DSLR). Don't disregard other brands.
Got me here the same way too. I'm stuck. Cant get away either. Forced to log on every morning when I get up, sneak a look on my phone when I'm at work, check back soon as I get home, and the better half turns it off when it's time to go to bed. I still have not found the answer to life's persistent question. So I went to the store and picked some up and took one home that I thought I would like.
That ad got a lot of us here...and, the answer is....neither, and both, as well as Sony, Pentax, Panasonic, Olympus... It's a teaser to get people to the forum, and a debate that has been rehashed to death. Welcome to UHH.

Oh man! Seriously, that's it? Then why do I spend so much time here?
Hawk, first, welcome to the Hog! Second, Canon sells 30% more dslr's than Nikon. Third, I'm sure you're smart enough to get home without a map! Again, welcome. SS

If you spend so much time here, than you know this is a weekly discussion, and no offense to the OP (who was only asking the same question that all of us who followed the same link asked), it's one that has been hashed to death. Fortunately, if you ignore the Canon vs Nikon posts, there's also a great deal of good information to be found.
The REAL thing canikon doesn't want you to know is that there are other companies out there selling products much more exciting, stretching out to test the possibilities of new technologies while these big two play it safe... And boring.

As a Sony shooter
