a gentleman dropped by hoping to upgrade his D90 to a D7100.
I gave him a 24-70/2.8 so he could fairly evaluate the camera.
He took 2 shots, 1 out of focus and one out of focus and under exposed and switched to a soft focus non-VR 300mm zoom for the remainder of handheld shooting.
out of 54 shots:
21 were more than 2 stops underxposed.
26 had nothing in the frame any where near focused.
41 had really bad motion blur.
21 shots were longer than 1/60 second, 5 longer than 1/30th.
heavy overcast uniform lighting required 1/100 at f5 and he shot 18 of those but 36 ranged from 1/10 to 1/640 th.
There were 2 usable shots which i believe were shot by his kid.
The point i/m trying to make is that a person buying a camera should take the same care in shooting as they would if it were their only daughters marriage.
By being careless and sloppy this man cheated himself out of what could have been a good opportunity for a significant upgrade.

strangely enough, the first person to express an interest picked up the camera a few minutes ago.
It found a home with a young couple moving up from a D3100 who are being stationd overseas.
Thank you everyone who expressed an interest.
