Exactly what type and year is it. It may still be worth more than you think.

1994, would require too many suspension mods to make a decent track car.

Sent you a private message with more info. Is this still available? Do you take paypal? How many shutter clicks? Condition?
Sorry to hear about your vehicle but 10k is too much for an engine. I would do some serious research on rebuilt engines. Good luck Rich
Where was this deal a few weeks ago or so? I just bought a brand new D7100.
If you ever sell the D800, we will come looking for for you to break your legs We don't want to miss out on your stacks and experiments ;) :D
If it was an older model the engine would cost less. There are several different engines listed on eBay with free shipping and they are new.
Are willing to sell the Tamron alone? If so, how much?

I'll ride a bike before i sell the D800.
i just can't believe the price of motors.
We used to buy a reman for $400, now chevy wants $10,000 for a crate motor plus $2000 to install.
Its just a stupid 350 small block vett.
what year? 10K man that is high!!!! of course I have not bought one in 30 years!!
how about leasing a car, ittle cheaper then $12,000

if it was any other model year i could buy a fresh block for $2000 at any auto parts store..
i did find a machine shop that will rebuild it for $3000 so its possible i may not have to sell all 3 of my daughters.

This has turned into an interesting thread! Has the 7100 final sale been done. I'm hopeful until then, and sick, sick, sick that I missed it!

That blessed D7100
It was an innocent impulse purchase to upgrade a D3100 I used for setting up film shots.
But it worked so well I started shooting with it and wanted to learn more about digital.
That meant I needed internet connectivity which required DSL, which required getting involved with the phone company. Now there is a phone in my house.
I learned; which meant I needed better lenses since mine were 20-50 years old.and I got a taste of what quality looked like which meant more, better lenses and the impulse purchase of a D800..
Of course one of those lenses was a macro which led to a computerized rail system and a bunch of new friends here on the forum.
Life was good, so I retired to social security.
I got so involved with photography that I failed to maintain my vehicles and I went from 3 too 2 too 1 and finally it broke and I stranded.
Now with a camera in each hand, no food and no wheels; Ive spent all my lunch money and I have to sell that sweet little 7100 to finance a humongus repair bill.
But noone does cash and carry so I have to get paypal which means I need a bank account so I can cet a credit card so I can accept payment from someone so I can give away a camera I love for macro shooting..
So a neighbor carries me to the store and bank cause I cant rent a car without a credit card and we get everything setup but they cant give me a card right there. Cards have to be mailed.. So I wait for Fridays mail/card so I can finish setting up paypal and rent a car and get to the shipping store. And Im part of the banking system.
And its all because of that blessed D7100
It's pretty amazing how just one purchase has involved so much time and energy in ways that you hadn't considered.
