wife and kids are too old to have any market value.

We used to buy a reman for $400, now chevy wants $10,000 for a crate motor plus $2000 to install.
Its just a stupid 350 small block vett.

10K is a total ripoff. Check the web, for that much you could get a high performance with money left over. Try "Jegs.com". I have a 75 Vet with a crate L48.

all kinds of crate motors available at reasonable prices but getting a dealer to install one which meets emissions and integrates with dashboard etc.., well you understand.
i priced the jegs motor and its 8-10 thou.
i may have to just junk the car.

Sorry to hear about the car. The camera deal above is outstanding, but my next move on a camera body will be an upgrade to full frame. It should be real easy to sell this great package. Good luck with the car repairs.
