I can see that you can not be convinced to believe otherwise, however wrong you are. To say that you do not know what you are missing is not a put down. You also missed the point about the cake. Look, it is like this... no one is in control of your feelings. If you feel that you are being looked down upon then you have taken it upon your self to feel that way. You are too sensitive with your feeling. In other words, eat tacks and grow a pair.

I am a big believer in and lover of science. I have no trouble reconciling that with my beliefs about the Divine. I don't see any contradiction between God and science.

And I think Boberic is right. No one can prove or disprove the existence of a Divine Creator.

I don't believe in God so in your eyes I am Evil.

I think if you met me with an open mind you may have a different opinion but I don't think I know any religious people that would understand why anyone wouldn't believe in God so not a fair test.

Each to their own, neither is right or wrong as I see it.

Feel free to believe in God but please leave me to have my own ideas too :D

Izza...I would never say that you are evil. I came to believe in the existence of God prior to my becoming a Christian actually through what I saw in the design of nature. Once I believed in God, I'm sure that He guided me to a Gospel preaching church (I actually started dating a girl who went there).

Back to you, however, Izza. I could see how all of the science that is thrown at a person could lead one to deny the existence of a Sovereign God. It only affirms my continued belief in Him, however.

Izza....Far from considering you evil, Jesus loved people just like you. It was you He came to minister to and to bring to God.
Consider Mark 2:17:

When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

No one thinks of you as an evil person just because you do not believe that God does exist. We all are sinners and have come up short. We just can not understand why you do not believe. Believe as you wish. That is between you and God. To want proof that God exist is to deny what you see as proof that God does exist. Faith requires no proof.

Mark Twain said, "Faith is something you believe when you know it ain't so."

As Christians we do not judge you to be evil that is not our place. We love you as we do our brothers and sisters that do believe. If you truly believe that God does not exist then that is your choice. If you really want to know the truth then ask God if he really exists to reveal himself to you. If as you believe he does not you have nothing to loose, but if he does be prepared for a life changing experience. I truly believe if you search for the truth you will find it.

There has to be a Satan.

Without Satan, God would have no excuse for allowing all the horrible things that go on in the world.

Why be afraid of something that isan enevitablity. It ain't a matter of if, only how or when. I am 70, I realize that my life is finite. I have lead a very succesful life. I have the same wife I married 40+years ago. We have raised a very sucessful son and have 2 great grand kids. I have been lucky. I have done the best that I could. I apologize to no one. I am an adherent of Coco Taylor (Queen of the blues) " Hey every body lets have some fun, you only live once when your'e dead your'e gone let the good times roll-Hey all you out there talking trash, wanna have some fun gotta spend some cash, Let The Good Times Roll"

In my youth I asked God to strike me dead to prove that he existed.

He didn't . . . so I've lived my life as an unbeliever.

Bangee you only confirm what I have said all along that believers are so closed minded as to only believe their way is right and have to put non believers down.

Your words "however wrong you are"

I am happy you find God helpful to you, I really am. I don't understand what you get but I won't tell you your wrong

So God paid as much attention to your words as most people around here!

Actually, the Bible is a history of God's revelation of Himself to man. He is not made up, He is real, and belief in Him is based on His revelation of Himself. Today, believers had not only have the Revelation of the Word, but the Revelation of the Holy Spirit as the Holy Spirit convicts them of sin, righteousness, and judgment as they came to belief in Christ. The Holy Spirit came at Pentecost, 50 days after the Resurrection of Christ. It is necessary for the Holy Spirit to work to bring one to salvation.

John 16:8 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment;

As George Carlin said, God answered his prayers about 50% of the time.

Carlin said he got much better results when he started praying to Joe Pesci.

He said Pesci wielding his baseball bat got things done in a hurry.
