looks like a new niche for a spare time job, like we all need one. or patent it and take it to "shark tank".... great idea to show off favorite shots

Great idea. Excellently executed. Always a problem, where and how to display our latest masterpeice.

I got this idea in my head that I could make a lamp shade that would hold my pictures and let them be lit by the lamp. This is the result. The design of the lampshade frame was not as straightforward as I expected, but after several false starts, here is the result.
The base of the lamp was made from some cherry scraps given to me by a woodworking friend.

this is the result.

Two comments

1) Given the level of craftmanship in the final product the phrase " not as straightforward as I expected" has convinced me not to build one myself.

2) Since it appears to be recycling day, I assume all the false starts are already at the curb.

Congrats on a nice piece.

Wow! Beautiful lamp. My woodworking is mainly limited to plywood. So those are giant transparencies?

I bought a bunch of old cameras that I intend to combine into a lamp - someday.

When I was a kid, I lived across the street from a clever woodworker who wrote a book, "A Saw Screams at Midnight." I recently bought a copy on Amazon. One of his projects was a lamp made of scraps. He glued lots of little bits together and made an attractive lamp.

What a clever idea! I presume the frame size for the pictures is 8 X 8? Do you have glass/Plexiglas on both sides of the picture to keep it flat or just on the outside?

Great concept, by the way. I like how the pieces of the center post curve out to meet the bi-wood base.

Very Nice! You must be a skilled woodworker in addition to a photographer; steaming that cherry wood to make all the legs the same is no easy trick, neither is the inlay in the block base.

I'm surprised that the RR Pearl Metallic has that much transparency.
