Would you please post pictures of how the inside looks so we can see how it's put together and how it's attached to the lamp base?

Could probably also use picture frames put together with hinges. Might be less work for those, like me, who don't have the skills you seem to have.

For those of us not so skillful, I wonder if a lampshade with the cover removed could be used. Maybe pictures could be put over the lampshade if it's white with no texture. Want to do something like this for a bedroom that has a fall woodsy theme.

I can post pictures of the inside, but pictures alone won't show you how to make it. First you have to realize that the part that reaches to the harp is made like a wagon wheel in order that the weight of the shade won't push the hub out. My shade was made as a pentagon in order to give a reasonable size and proportion to the pics. As for using hinges, I used Sitka Spruce for the frame in order to save on weight while maintaining strength. I think the hinges would add too much weight.
I am a member of the Woodworker's Guild of Oregon and I teach a class on making jigs, and part of my class is on how I came up with the jigs I made to build the lampshade.

My suggestion to you is to put a print up to the lighted shade and see how it looks. The commonest question I get is "What kind of paper did you use?" Most photo paper is quite translucent. Just hold it up to a light.

I have thought about doing that. Could probably also use clear 81/2 x 11 shipping labels and pull off the backing and attach to a plain white shade.

Thanks for showing this. Might get my hubby to make the frame for me. He builds furniture from scratch and has the equipment.
