wanted to add, yes I am a fan of "portrait pro", if you are good with the sliders, on don't go in extreme edits, you get great results, pic of my youngest sister. I hope she doesn't find out I posted the unedited version... lol
without portrait pro.
some added skin blending.
very creative , Can u tell me how did u do the borders for the second and the third picture? Is it on photoshop CS5? I just have photoshop Elements can I do the same?
worse thing about weddings and senior pics, are the mothers! i can work with the bride and grooms and kids all day but the mothers are the pits.

Really nice job ... Is Portrait Professional use time consuming and does it work as a adjustment layer?

I too use Elements 8. The second image was accomplished by making a copy (control J) ... then free transform (control T) for reduction in size and angle ... then change the original to a layer .... then use Filter/Blur/Motion Blur ... then save as new name so you don't alter the original.

By the way looks like you are doing some skin retouching. I don't know if you are just using Photoshop or the like but I downloaded Professional Portrait 10 and have used it a bit. It does a great job but you do have to be a bit careful not to over do it or you get to much of a plastic look. See the two images...actually about a frame or two apart, only one was retouched. Actually a bit over done in my opinion.
Please understand...this is just my untrained opinion...the first is so much better and flattering to your subject...The 2nd is too, too, harsh about the mouth and there seems to be a notching of the 2 front teeth that is not present or evident in the 1st...I think she is a beautiful woman to be so harshly portayed...Just sayin'...

Senior Image 3 ... (Control J) to make a copy of original ... then use Lasso Tool to make a squiggly selection around subject ... then Edit/Stroke # pixels on the selection. then Effects Palate to Bevels, Drop Shadows, etc or in combination to suit your taste ... then close as a new name image so you don't change the original.

Can you give me a two sentence rundown on what you did to frame picture 1. Makes that shot work.

great work, back home we don't do senior photography so the first time I heard the phrase I literally thought senior citizens, lol.

Russ,
I use PS Elements 8 ... Open original/Duplicate original (Control P)/Free Transform Duplicate Layer (Control T)/ hold Option Key while moving a corner inward until you like the size. You can also rotate the image if you like. when to your liking click Return to close Transform. Filter/Bevel Emboss to liking or drop shadow. Close image and save by another name (Shift Command S). Close original (Command W)
That's It .... Have Fun
