I was wondering if anyone has heard anything on when the new Tamron 150-600mm f/5-6.3 SP Di VC USD will be available? Ordered mine back in March. Have a great day.

Ordered mine from B & H for Canon in early March and they still do not know when it is coming in.

They had a lot of issues with the Canon version. I wonder if that may be holding them up as they fix the Nikon version before it is released. I have a trip coming up in July I need one for and B&H could not estimate a ship date so I went with the f4.5-6.3 50-500mm Sigma. I already have a 1.4 Sigma TC. The Lens came a few days ago

My friend in Japan got his Nikon mount two weeks ago, so they are now out there. Here in the USA, a number of supposed release dates have come and gone, but last week Newegg announced a July 4th date: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16830991922

I haven't had any issues with my Tamron 150-600 for my Canon 6D nor have I heard from other Canon/Tamron 150-600mm lens owners that have had any problems. Where are you getting this information? Is it because your a Nikon camera owner, your putting down the Canon version?
All the Canon/Tamron 150-600mm owners that have contacted me have praised this lens. No exceptions.

Google it, they had a ton of issues with the canon mounts. Many if not most needed to be returned and were issued new lenses. The Nikon release was held up because of the backlog.

I haven't found any reliable issues that were detrimental to the Canon/Tamron 150-600mm lens. If you are going to make a statement like that, then send me your proof.

I don't need to send proof, it's well documented. A simple Google search will show you more than 10K results for the issue. Also search this forum, the issue has also been discussed here in the past.

The issue is related to the focus. I'm very glad you have not had the issue, but many others have. Perhaps you got the 2nd gen after the lens was repaired.

I received my Tamron 150-600mm back in January of 2014, so it is not a second generation lens. I have heard from many satisfied UHH members concerning the quality of this lens with having no problems, so I will take their good comments against yours. I have searched this so-called focusing issue and have found no evidence to support your hypothesis.

I'm very glad you are happy, I'm not saying you should not be. If it were me, given the issues they have had, I would want to know all I could about that issue. But I understand the mentality that if I deny issues, then those issue don't exist. I understand they may not truly exist for you, but to deny a very well documented issue is a little silly.

As I said I too was waiting for this lens, the NIkon mount, but during my wait and research found the Canon issues. I still wanted the lens, I was making the assumption that the Nikon would not suffer the same focus issue because it was worked out in the Canon release. I would still be on the list to get it today, except they could not give a ship date for Nikon, and I have a reason to need it in July. So I went with the Sigma instead.

Regis, glad you haven't experienced any issues. From what I understand the 6D wasn't affected but the 7D, 1D4 & 5DIII were difficult to use in AI Servo.

Here's a general link that documents others having issues. I can't say if it's user error or not but there is undoubtedly a lot posted on the net.

I tried several times to google the above link (exactly as you have it) or web address with no success.
