I'm going to go against the grain on this one and say I like #2. It is more interesting (to me) and I spent more time looking at it.

No. 1 for me. I usually like reflections, but the first is more simple and keeps the attention on the subjects.
Looks like 1 is the sure winner. Love the intensity of the cplor. Thanks for sharing.

I have to go with #1 but both are excellent compositions...well thought out and executed!! Very very good!
Both are entry worthy, I prefer #2 for its artistic qualities. The choice of entries depends on the competition parameters and the judges. Remember that the judging in this type of competition is always very subjective and your entry may be at the top of one competition and at the bottom of another depending on the judges.
Definitely #2, by a long shot.

I like them both but if you want it to appear as a painting. I would choose #2.:) :)
I prerfer #1, but imho it could be improvrd by including more of the bottom reflections in the final image.

If you are sure it's "fro" a club competition, I vote for #2.

I am usually more of a "literalist", but I'll make an exception on this and go with #2.
