Nikon keeps on releasing new prosumer cameras, RED cameras, and $1700 lenses that allow you to shoot in the dark... Well I've decided that untill Nikon comes out with a new PRO-BODY DX model, I'm going to keep my money in my pocket, refine my skills snd keep shooting with my most excellent D300s !
Hey Nikon, Put that in your pipe and SMOKE IT !

I could not agree more, I have 2 d7000s I use almost daily, I will not be sucked into getting more amcams or prosumer models, I await the D4 replacement or agree with what you are waiting for.

I totally agree with you. The 7100 seems to be a great camera, but I prefer the feel of the D200 style. Although my wife and I now shoot fx bodies, we will upgrade our dx cameras in time and I hope Nikon will come out with a D400 type. In the mean time I will sit back and pick up good dx glass as their price continues to drop.

I'm still shooting with my D90 and am quite happy, thank you. :)
SLR sales have dipped over the past few years and I think this is exactly why. Consumers are beginning to realize what they have is fine, are tired of continuously buying "the next big thing" and the camera companies are running out of tricks.

With all the options I'm seeing for the future (advsanced DSLRs, Mirrorless, mega-megapixel and full frame compacts), I think I'll just hang out with my D90 and wait for the industry to make up its mind.

I said exactly this in previous comments.

There was a time when manufacturers like Nikon brought out a new camera "occasionally", eg when the F was replaced by the F2, now I accept that technology moves on, but, when they started adding in camera filters, editing, special effects, all great for kids (sorry, toys) I stopped looking at new releases.

I use a camera I don't need to play with it or boast that I have the latest, which the D7000s are not.

I feel the same about Canon. They do the same thing. I use the EOS 50D and I see no reason to move to the 60D or the new 70D or their PRO DSLR's.

I had 10Ds :) , they were stolen, so the insurance replaced them with 60Ds, they are ok, but I would not have bought them

My first DSLR was the 10D. Great camera. Wish I had kept it.

You are not the the first hogger to come begging for a pro level DX format Nikon. Well, don't hold your breath. It seems that Nikon has no desire for any DX cameras higher than the 7100. because they want to push full frame on that market segment. What better way to get the buyers into high priced FX format lenses? Speaking personally, I would rather have a pro spec DX format than a more cheaply made full frame body; more reach, and lighter, cheaper lenses. I also predict that sales of entry level crop sensor DSLRs will lose out to bridge cameras, mirrorless, and large sensor compacts. Perhaps Canikon will abandon them completely.

I will be getting another, it was the first pro spec, and is built like a tank, ideal for a camera to place in bushes covered with plastic and radio trigger for wildlife

Hey guys Nikon and Canon and the rest are in it for the money. The market would be very small for a pro Crop camera just the few pros that perfer it for sports. They need to have a market for 100,000 to make any money. Same goes for those that would like a completly Manual camera. The Camera compaines have to keep up with the others camera compaines or they would be left in the dust with no sales. If you are happy with what you have keep it. I think it's great they have newer cmaeras than my Nikon D50. Just My Not SO Humble Opinion. - Dave

Actually I only use FX lenses with my cropped, as you never know when you may want to get a ff even rent
