What lazy people do you refer to, and HOW do they live off the backs of others?

Please give me a specific answer....

I'm going to make this quick, because you people bore me, and some of us here actually have photos to work on. If I have to expalin it to you, you are living under a rock and not paying attention.

Just 3 days ago (this is just one time, I've seen it too many to count), I went grocery shopping. I do all my shopping at Wal-Mart. To support them?? NO. Because I can only afford them. I do not like the meats at Wal-mart so, after buying mostly generic or Wal-mart brand stuff, I go to a local store that has excellent meat, albeit pricey. While in the check out, I observe the women in front of me. She has all top of the line, quality stuff, including T-bone steaks. Not to mention 6 bags of chips, and 5 2-litre bottles of pop. I wonder how your hero Bloomburg would react to that. Her bill is almost $300, about twice what I spent at Wal-Mart. I won't tell you how she pays for it, because even you can figure it out. When I leave the store, I see her again, loading her FREE goodies into her 2009 Equinox. I walk to my 1995 Lumina, and go to my second job.

I see this kinda stuff daily, and I'm not even looking for it. A co-workers' neighbor receives food stamps, and works about 20 hours a week. Her live-in boyfriend works fulltime. He gets his mail from a post office box, so there is no record of him living there. They are also able to file taxes seperately. Because she lives "alone", and has a child, she gets back approx. $4,500 during tax time. How much of that $4,500 actually came out of her check? Here's a hint: It's next to nothing!! Oh, I forgot. Because she lives "alone", she also gets housing assistance and medical coverage. She pays zero for it, and has zero co-pays. Her insurance is better than mine, and I work 50-60 hours a week.

I have witnessed people using thier food stamps to buy other people things. Then, the other people give them cash, and they use it for cigarettes. I have seen it done with a six-pack as well.

In last 20 years since I've been paying attention, I can't even guess as to the number of times I've seen shit like this occur.

If you haven't seen it, you're either turning a blind eye, or a complete fool.

Republicans give to big corporations in the sense that they include tax breaks to them in legislation. Democrats are guilty of the same thing. The Republicans, however, have worked very hard against unions and workers' rights, which certainly favors corporations.

I do not believe the Republicans give to Big Corps. They just allow them to keep more of what they earn. A profitable business grows and employs more . The Democrats are content to make this a class war, they have painted big business and the wealthy as the bad boys. I am sure most of you Right Wingers are invested in one way or another in the stock market, this makes you a part owner of these big bad Corporations. JMHO

What's your point this has been going on for 30-40 years during GOP and DFL administrations. There will always be those you can point a finger at and say they're abusing the system. You've pointed out 2 out of 350 million people in this country and I'm guessing there are more that actually need the help than those who abuse it. Hell in Mn they just made it illegal to buy tobacco products and liquor using an EBT card---she could have had 5 cartons of smokes and a case of JD, then you could have paid for her the entire time she was dying. All this BS about all this happening under a liberal presidency is just that, BS. It even happened during Ronnie Regan's presidency but do you ever bring that up???Noooo If people believed all the crap that is written here daily Obama would never have been voted in a 2nd term and the GOP wouldn't be trying to figure out what went wrong. Best advice I can give you is don't look over other peoples shoulders and mind your own business---you'll be less stressed........

I have seen this sort of thing happening, too, but that doesn't mean that everyone who gets food stamps doesn't need and deserve them.

Speaking of minding your own business, nobody asked your opinion.

I have to disagree with you. I think the people getting help that aren't abusing it, are the eception to the rule

My personal experience is that a divorced friend who's making $23,000/year and has a child was denied food stamps. Your stories are just stories.

Stand by a check stand for a while and count the folks abusing, they are just the ones you remember! Any number of abusers is too many though and we need to improve programs.

As of Feb/13 47.7 Million people in the U.S. are on food stamps.
Pigpen its highly unlikely you would ever see anyone abusing the system especially if a Liberal says its not possible. I did write that in a sarcastic font...

It's difficult for me to be as optimistic as you. A while back, stats released from the Department of Labor (the government, not Fox News) showed that the majority of people on 99 weeks of unemployment usually find a job with only a few weeks of benefits remaining. Do you attribute this to coincidence?? Luck??
