.... and I'm NOT talking about the bullet! This was the kidney stone I passed not long ago. MY 7th so far.... and the largest to date - a little over 6 mm! It was right at the breaking point as being too big to pass and requiring surgery. Thankfully, I didn't have to go under the knife.

For those who are fortunate enough to never have been plagued by one of these, I can only say.... "You have NO friggin' idea how lucky you are!"

I have a very high pain tolerance, but these little SOB's will bring you to your knees!

I knew a nurse who had a breech baby and she said the kidney stone she had was far worse than the backward delivery!

Yep.... it's THAT bad! Whew.... I hope to hell I NEVER have another one like the one in the photo!

I had heard of somebody sh_tting a brick before ..... but never someone p_ssing a bullet !

There is also the possibility that your settings on the camera are: VIVID COLORS, or HIGH CONTRAST which tend to overly saturate colors.

Try a different CF card ? or a different lens.

Also, use a new battery making sure it is fully charged.

You may want to clean the contacts between lens and camera body.

Use the latest Firmware updates too.

and let us know what happens.

Sounds about right. I have known people who spent a whole lot more, and a few who spent less......

Usually, the quality of the end result is commensurate with the cost.

2.5 F-stops faster and a much higher quality ( sharpness and vivid colors) is what you can expect. ( and a pound or two heavier ).

But you will never have to upgrade that lens !

Seriously considering upgrading to a carbon fiber tripod. Care not one whet for the center post, so it will be removed immediately if not sooner. Will be used primarily for DSLR with medium weight zooms(70-200, 100-400)
Needs to be:
a)relatively light, I do a lot of hiking/traveling
b)minimum support of +- 9#
c)positive adjustments
d)ability to get very low
e)height of 60+"
f)preferably less than $5C.

Also looking for a plate to convert from a manfrotto to arca swiss.

Would appreciate opinions based on first hand experience.

The FEISOL3342 or 3441 are excellent fiber tripods. Light, tall and stable. You can put any head you want on it and carry it all day without fatigue.

I highly recommend them as mine have been around the world and back.

I am planning a trip to Paris this July....any suggestions on day trip, photo friendly operators?
I like landscape and wildlife photography.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

You can spend weeks in Paris and find new photo
opportunities. Here are a few taken 2 years ago. Note: the Eiffel Tower and fireworks were taken July 14th ( Bastille day) and the animals can be seen at the "Jardin des Plantes" which is a garden and zoo.

Best of luck.

DIRECTV is worthless, They tried to screw me over several times and still call me from time to time even though I insult them and rant LOL

I only watch NETFLIX these days and am perfectly content.
