Connect USB hub with HDMI. Allows you to also connect external hard drive, card reader, etc. Also as others have said, mirror laptop to monitor.

Worked for me.

I have the R5 and purchased the RF100-500 lens when it came out. My daughter, who also has an R5, called me and asked me was the RF100-500 worth $2000 more than the RF100-400. I looked at the specs and said if I was buying now I would buy the RF100-400. She bought it and when I saw her shortly after, I tried it on my camera and decided to sell my RF100-500. The RF100-500 weighs 3 lbs. The RF100-400 weighs 1.4 lbs. Even if you add the RF1.4 extender it adds less than 8 oz. and gives you a range of 140 to 560. I shoot mostly birds and air shows with this combination and have no trouble hand holding it. It feels noticeably lighter than the 100-500 did. My walk around lens is the 24-240 which weighs less than the 24-105. Those two lenses are used by me over 95% of the time. PS: I'm 85 years old.

I've been going through old photos and improving them with the current software. A couple of weeks ago, I opened photos from Mackinac Island and the Pictured Rocks which I had taken in 2010. So that reminded me how beautiful the U.P. is.

Besides all of those mentioned, go to Mackinac Island. There are no cars on the island, you walk, rent a bike or take a horse and buggy ride. Many interesting photo ops. Make sure you photograph the natural arch from both below and above. I think the circumference of the island is about 3 miles. We walked around it. Mackinac island and surrounding area is the fudge capital of the world. Ryba's fudge is the best known.

You might want to make reservations for the boat ride to see the pictured rocks. Use a polarizer to enhance saturation. Make sure you take a night photo of the Big Mac Bridge. If by some chance you stay in Paradise, the entertainment is to go to the dump at night and watch the bears. The main attractions as mentioned are the Pictured Rocks, the falls and Mackinac island. If you have time all of the others mentioned are great also.

If by chance you are going through Detroit, make sure you spend a day at Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum. If you are a Motown fan, see the Motown Museum also.

Look at the MacMini with the M2 processor. I think I saw it at Amazon for $599. Buy a 27" monitor at Costco or Amazon and you will have a very fast system for less than $1000. I have a Macbook air with the M1 processor which is very fast and hooked up to a 27" monitor. The MacMini with the M2 will be even faster. The 27" screen is much better for photo editing than the screen on a laptop.

Check out the "Lens Skirt". It allows you to move your lens to different angles.

I belong to 2 "Camera" clubs. We have a simple rule: All submissions must start with a photograph you took. Any post processing that you think improves the photo is permissible. Some photographers like to do "altered reality" which is also allowed.

I am 84 years old and I use the Canon R5 full frame with the Canon RF100-400 lens and if needed a Canon 1.4 extender. The lens is very light and last I saw sells for about $500. I also have the Canon RF24-240. Neither are fast lenses but the combination is much lighter than my old Canon Mark IV was. You can use all of your existing lenses including 3rd party with a $100 adapter. Today's software allows for high ISO shooting. The 45 megapixel allows cropping to a small area of the photo. I belong to 2 camera clubs and have received highest scores with these camera combinations. If there is a camera store in your area, I would see if they have the combination in stock so you could hold it. Beside lightweight the other major advantage of mirrorless is 20 or more frames per second and tracking ability for shooting birds in flight.

A Pro photographer told me about Vivid Metal Prints. They are the originators of metal prints and that is their only product. Most of their business has been to professional photographers but recently they have started selling to anyone. I have purchased over 20 of their prints ranging in size from 12x18 to 36x54. I've been 110% satisfied.
Take the photo with the most colors and send it into them. Get a proof for a small fee. As others have suggested, if there will be a reflection, use matte. They are easy to work with and if they don't think they can make an outstanding print, they will let you know.

The Canon R5 has both a mechanical shutter and electronic shutter which most if not all other mirrorless cameras have. Does the electronic shutter affect shutter count? When you are shooting at 20fps or more, if that affects the shutter count, you could have 100,000 in short order.

Get the 5R, no problem using any of your existing lenses or even Tamron lenses. Eventually you might want to purchase the RF24-240 which is a great walk around lens and the RF100-400 which is very light. I am going to a night air show in a couple of weeks and will certainly appreciate how light that lens is while holding it up in the air. It is also inexpensive, last I saw $498.

I've used PowerExtra batteries on Canon R5 as well as the OEM batteries and I can't tell the difference. I've had the R5 since it came out.

I took my RF24-240 and RF100-400 on that cruise. With today's software, you can shoot at higher ISO's without any problem.

Try the FV mode. You can change aperture, shutter and ISO while looking through the viewfinder. I use that almost exclusively.

Sell your EF100-400 and buy the RF100-400 which is on sale for only $499 now. It is so light that you don't need a tripod. It is actually lighter than the RF24-240. I had the RF100-500 and sold it after trying someone else's RF100-400. If I want more reach I add the RF1.4 extender which makes the lens 140-540.

Has anyone sold photo equipment to MPB Camera? If so, what kind of experience did you have (good or bad)

Thanks,
