To me he was one of the best. I saw him in person for a brief moment at the corner of 14th and K street, in D. C., one summer evening in 1959. He was in a conversation with a young lady, with his body guard nearby. He didn't catch my eye as to why I recognized him, it was his voice that caught my attention. Looked and sounded as he did on radio, the movies and TV. Like any fan, I stood at a respectable distance for short time and then moved on. He was the headliner at a D.C. nightclub on 14th St, then a location for celebrity entertainers. Not much of a Tony Martin story, but I'm sticking to it in as much it is all I got.
Obviously at first glance it does look like some kind of rifle. And deadly. But cameras take pictures, not people. And for my old tired eyes this is a combo camera/tripod/strap/etcetera picture taking outfit. By the way, on the subject of plastic guns, when whomever fares a shot with one of those, submit a photo to UHH of your trigger finger and hand after the firing.

A humorous debate following WWII, and Operation Paper Clip, was if our Germans, were smarter than the Germans in the Soviet Union. Indeed the Soviets did haul off German scientists following the war, but used them in a different manner. Not too long ago, during a Q and A, following a talk by Monique Laney, author of the book, "German Rocketeers in the Heart of Dixie", she pointed out that Soviets simply picked the brains of "their" Germans and then sent them back home. Unlike the U.S., which not only picked the brains of "our" Germans, we hung on to them and put them to work.

The doctor says it will take too long to get his injured friend to a hospital, so emergency action has to be taken. The doctor says "this requires you to suck the venom out of the fang puncture wounds. The hunter kills the cell phone call. The bitten friend asks him "what did the doctor say?" The hunter that was on the phone replies, "You're going to die."
