I got my Sigma 150-600C through GreenToe. I put in a price and Adorama picked it up in an hour, and I had the lens within a week.

I've been seeing a lot of inexpensive older lenses especially the 1.4 and 1.8. Right now I'm looking more for wide angles. (I know they must be used in manual mode) I just don't want to buy a million adapters so I'd like to stick to one brand to adapt to my Sony A6300. I've seen Nikkor, Pentax, Cannon, Nikon but they all need their own adapter to my camera.

Has anyone found one particular type of lens that they like? I would imagine there isn't a reasonably priced adapter (less than $150) that works on more than one brand of lens for the A6300?

I have had great luck with the Minolta Maxxum AF lenses. They are priced fairly and have wonderful color rendition. I use them on A7RII, A7II and A6300. There is a reason Sony bought and rebranded Minolta glass into their a-mount line.

Thank you. Excellent advice. I have a habit of customizing settings before even using the camera for the first time. I am struggling with focus and tracking settings as they are very different than my Nikon settings, which are intuitive and do as they are designed to. I will continue to work with it and I appreciate your encouragement.

If you are going to use the Sony.....take everything you did with the Nikon and forget it....start from scratch .

I am awaiting arrival of the new 24-70 2.8 GM lens. I plan to use this lens primarily for events, especially in the large, not well lit sanctuary of my Church.

I am also looking for a smaller, lighter lens for everyday use, and am seriously considering the 28-70 "kit" lens.

I have read several reviews of this lens, but can't seem to find feedback from many a7Rii users. I would appreciate feedback from Hogs who shoot this lens on this body. I don't expect a miracle, but would like to have a good general purpose lightweight alternative to my 2.8.

Thanks in advance for any perspective.

I have and use the 28-70 on a A7RII. It is not steller, but for the price it is quite good for a kit lens. It serves me well for my needs. Belongs in most photo bags. Love it on my a6300 as well.

I travel a lot and make books of my vacations or print pictures to display in my house. No bigger than 8.5 x 11

I think you just answered your own question. :D

I have a D810 and I consider it a luxury, but heavy. I also love the ability to crop if I need to. Its a mixed bag. Because of the weight, I mostly use it on a tripod. It produces wonderful images.

Side note: For Landscape, HDR and street, I've switched to the Sony A7RII with Zeiss lenses. Less weight.

In a couple recent topics, it has been suggested there are too many "issues" with Lightroom's current versions. Apparently, there are about 60,000 signed up as UHH members and millions of Lightroom users. Some have said they won't use it because it is too flaky.

I thought it would be fun and interesting to see how many find it reliable and how find it a failure. The point here is not whether or not you like the perpetual licence plan or the CC rental plan, but only if Lightroom "works reliably".

Would you please post a "Good" if it is reliable and a "Bad" if it is not reliable.

My post is "Good". It has been flawless.

Having put myself into a Lightroom quandary recently, I've spent (wasted?) a lot of time researching its cataloging features. Just earlier today I watched a great video on LR organization features.

My biggest takeaway from several tutorials- and advice given here- is that in order to reap the full benefits of the LR organization tools, one must commit 100% to let LR be in charge of everything, and learn to manage everything through LR.

Import through LR. Store through LR. Send to Photoshop via LR. Send back to LR. Sync with LR. Export from LR. Lightroom, Lightroom, Lightroom.

If you commit from the start, and do it properly, great! But I would have had to spend weeks studying Lightroom to learn how to best use it. I find the thought of trying to reorganize 11 years worth of images to suit Lightroom overwhelming. Just going to forge ahead with my own workflow...
