Sony has a nice new mirrorless camera out the A-6300. APS-C, 24MP, 14 oz, about the same size as the Fuji, with a nice little 16 - 50 mm kit lens. Specs include high ISO and 11 fpm and continuous autofocus on moving subjects. Shutter lag 0.05 sec.

Also does 4K video in camera, has input for mic, weather proof magnesium alloy body.
But is almost double the price of the A6000.

The Nikon 810 is 5 fps, and has a shutter lag of 0.52 sec. 11 is more than double 5. And the often criticized shutter lag: 810=0.052, Sony=0.05. Even the new Nikon d500, touted as the camera for sports, has a max 10 fps. And the new Sony body is only around $900! No, 11 FPS is not too shabby!

whole lot better than 11 fpm

I guess that extra .002 second shutter lag on the 810 explains why i can never get my timing right. By the time my shutter trips, the flower has wilted.

There are some features of this camera that look very appealing:

1) Silent Electronic Shutter.
2) Non-compressed RAW format.
3) Auto focus with Sony A-mount lenses using the Sony LA-EA3 adapter using the 425 on sensor phase detect points.
4) The new sensor sounds promising. Uses copper wiring which should speed up data transfers and to maximize the ratio of sensor area to wiring area. I am not sure this sensor is BSI. Some are reporting that it is, but I don't think so.

I wish it would have had IBIS. But it has everything else I was hoping for.

I agree with the FPS. My ONLY grip about Sony is that it seems like every time I turn around, they have come up with a new camera. They turn out cameras like no one else. Hold on to your hats. AND THREE NEW LENSES FOR E MOUNT. SLOW DOWN

You can't compare this with the full frame D810 at 36 mp, and yes you can get up to 7 fps in DX mode with battery on the D810 but they are totally different cameras, why not include the new D5 at 14 fps or the new Canon at 16 fps with huge burst, buffer and battery that supports 1200 to 3000 shots and 400,000 actuations. I could go on and list differences but these posts are fine but compare apples to apples or did you want me to add the Phaseone at 100,000 mp?

So-called "4-D Focusing" appears to be almost instantaneous -- a promising development.

Along with the 425 phase detect points and no viewfinder blackout at speeds up to 8fps.

I read about it last night, supposedly with very fast focusing. At $1,000, it should sell well.

I'm reading elsewhere that burst mode can fill the buffer and cause the camera to freeze until images download to the card.

The new Sony A6300 is not "out" it has just been announced for a possible March availability. B&H is accepting pre-orders and/or notification alerts when they receive the cameras. Also it is "weather resistant" not weather sealed. I'm not sure of the difference but there is a difference.

As an A6000 owner I'm not exactly excited. It has 2 main virtues for me, the improved EVF and the fact that it uses the same batteries. Video is not a plus factor for me so pending review info I'm sticking with the A6000, maybe even add a 2nd one.
