My question is why do you and others let it bother you? Let people take pictures the way they wish.

It does not bother me at all hun. But if someone sets themselves up and declares to the world they are a dumb arsewipe then it feel it is only right we answer their plea for abuse. I look upon it as an act of charity almost.

It provides a perfect forum for those who take themselves too seriously.

Well said young Sir. Have you noticed that many of the folks who ask the dumb questions do not appear to actually take photographs? They never show them here on the Hog like the guy who started this pointless well worked and covered exchange of ideas.

I have another question. Why does the ownership of a camera make people think the discussion of quite meaningless topics and questions, which allow for those so inclined to expel hot air, will provide anything of interest to those with more than one brain cell in working order?

Don't you just love the folks who start a post without any research. For your information, the Nikon D750, which is a FF camera body, weights in at 1.65 lbs. The Nikon D500, which is a APS-C camera body, weights in at a whopping 1.892 lbs. SO MUCH FOR YOUR RESEARCH.

Actually no I do not love em at all. How can you even begin to like a boring fart yet alone love them?

I apologise for my fellow Englishman ChrisT. You will find not all of us are as boring as hell and ask inane questions. Chris old love who the f... cares?

This shot is much easier to do without exposure bracketing, which brings nothing to the table here, using Photoshop or similar and a dash of Nik filters which are free. I can show you what I got from your simple middle image in a matter of seconds if you wish without the need to combine multiple images and the inherent problems that can bring.

If I was blunt I would say your applying HDR software as an easy fix but if you like the result all is well. However if you processed it correctly in Photoshop you can adjust color as you see fit in a selective manner without getting halos noise and artifacts that HDR software introduces. Using Topaz or Nik can give you the final touch.
Your 4th image in the road series looks far from natural and the software has changed the sky color to a very strange murky and dirty blue rather than the natural bright sky you started with. All HDR software often screws up skies.

If you wanted an artsy look to your image you have achieved that in the HDR version. Its a way off a natural look and not far from a comic book type of illustration. I actually quite like it but it will divide opinion.
The original is a good photograph and Camera Raw with Photoshop would reveal all the detail maybe helped along by Nik. If your clients are pleased by the slightly unreal and enhanced look then carry on collecting the fees I would say. From a personal point of view its a case of using HRD software because you can rather than because its totally necessary. The HDR software has introduced the halos and artifacts mentioned already which would not be present using a less aggressive type of processing.

Well you see, Billy, or Willy, or Wideopen, or Calibre or whatever you will be calling yourself today, you know nothing about me, and I could care less what you think of my abilities, whereas, I know a great deal about you. Tell me, what compels a grown man to try and "weasel" his way back into a forum he has been banned from, using a bunch of false identities, and rather poorly at that? Reminds me of your friend. Birds of a feather................

Admin bans folks from the site entirely who assume multiple identities does he not? So if your accusations were true surely we would not be able to have this nice little chat?
And so far you have said zilch about Portugal.

I would guess that this " straight shooter's" next alias will be Willyspad. Nose still pressed up against the glass. what a shame.

C'mon Billy, or whoever you are at this time, let's see some of your artistic photography. We are waiting.............

Sorry old boy I have to disappoint you with the artistic photography gig. Like you I just take snaps. I of course freely admit this whereas you I believe would like us to believe you have a degree of knowledge about the subject and qualify as a photographer. I will leave you to dwell on the delusions about your self and your posted snaps for others to judge.

The person that posted here asked specifically about a visit they were planning to Portugal I believe. Exactly what Mr dsturr's answer has to do with that is anyone's guess. I would offer an opinion myself that the Hog's very own mushroom photography specialist has never visited the country but felt the need for some obscure reason to open his mouth anyway?

Avoid the water The wine is simply awful and the local women do a fine line in bristly mustaches and some have hairy backs. But the scenery and architecture is stunning

Congrats ranger! May I ask what you will use the D850 for?

That's what I like about tdekany he always asks such sensible and pertinent questions. What most people will use the D850 for my dear man is to take photographs. Apart from this its use is a tad limited but I'm sure most realize this when they buy one. ie if your looking for a new kitchen appliance it may not prove the wisest of purchases.
Trust this info is of use to Mr tdekany.
